Structural Engineering Research Assistantship Available

Starting fall of 2007, positions for one (or two) assistantships are available for research related to steel and composite structures, emphasizing on seismic engineering, blast or impact resistance. Yearly stipend along with medical benefits and tuition waiver will be available to selected candidate. Talented and enthusiastic individuals with a B.S. or M.S. degree in structural engineering, structural mechanics or other related fields of science and engineering are desired. Applicants from foreign countries will also be considered.

Candidates are encouraged to apply for graduate studies leading to Ph.D. in structural engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Minimum requirements for the research assistantship would include:

•        BS in Civil Engineering with GPA > 3.0;
•        MS in Structural Engineering or ME;
•        Research experiences and preferably publication of one conference proceedings.
