4. Yes, indeed if you get in a good master over there in Canada / EU, and do the PhD at the same place, the master is much more like the coursework phase (first part) of a US PhD counterparty
6. A common problem of a 1 year program is that one don't have enough time to find professor for strong reference. In general case the professors can write that with reference to one's first semester grade, but for LSE............


1. Columbia master in economics is a new one, make sure it's a academic one (like Duke) but not a professional one (like NYU)
2. Is Columbia Master in Financial Economics and Princeton Master in Finance worth considering?
3. NYU MSMF, CMU MSCF, Cornell MFE, maybe suitable for finance (and finncial economics) but definitly not for general economics. Moreover, schloarship and RA are rare in this kind of practical program.

they are indeed mainly for career purpose. but it is at the same time solid enough

caferr purpose means that it is expensive. but the coursework is also fine
and the class size is small

byu msfm cornell mfr cmu mscf is even mre career orinentated and less academic in this list…

對這類truely elite program來說, 有一年有一個都已烴超出想像了......

MA项目大多都是业界请来的人教，系里的骨干教授光一二年级的PhD课就快上不过来了，还要教本科，想来也不会 ...

沒記錯nyu ma econ就三十二個credut.
如果不能用phd level course subsitute ma level coirse那把ma 的條了，再修phd的話，都夠畢業了……
再讀多三幾個field course or other interesting stuffs 的話，學費單可就……

i will say the reasonable expectation is:
get into a two year master, get excellent grades in first year and know some professors well
and then the chances of getting a RA in second year will be much better.

i guess its very unlikely to be able to find a ra directly on distance unless one have strong reference. ith connection already.
