Quantitative Comparison
questions present two quantities and ask you to compare them.
Directions: A Quantitative Comparison question consists of two quantities in boxes, one in Column A and one in Column B. You are to compare the two quantities and select answer:

A if the quantity in Column A is greater;
B if the quantity in Column B is greater;
C if the two quantities are equal;
D if the relationship cannot be determined from the information given.

hints

Here are some general hints for answering Quantitative Comparison questions.

Learn the answer choices.They never change.

Know the layout of the questions.

Many of these questions can be answered without working out the complete expressions in each column.

When working with algebraic expressions, don't forget that a variable could stand for a fraction, a negative number, 0, etc.
