RT，英语系的忙着专四，找个在外国的朋友结果不怎么认真，说我的作文应付TOEFL 足够了。。。太应付了4.24就考了，就把自己认真写的几篇文章整上来，麻烦各位谁有空帮忙看看~~先谢谢了~

Many people believe that the government should focus more on preserving natural environment and less on economic development, considering the mounting pollution of the earth. However, I disagree with the statement for I deem that it is rather superficial and inaccurate to hold that opinion.
The environment, as I see it, is without a doubt crucial to our society. Because of the pollution of air, water and trash, as well as greenhouse effect and heat-transfer conductance, many experts and government officials consider the environment as an increasingly important factor to a city's successful development. They argue that it is time to emphasize more on environment protection, rather than the economic development. Obviously, the environment has great influence not only on the city's appearance, but also on the economic development. For example, The Coal City in China, Tai Yuan, is the victim of environment pollution. Seldom did the officials there pay any attention to the environment problems which are brought by the coal industries. As a result, the environment there was badly hurt and no companies wanted to set branches there.
No one, however, can deny the importance of economy to a city's development. The economy is the basis of a city. The success of city is largely based on the economic level and it has influence on the standard of living.
As far as I am concerned, the natural environment and the economy are equally vital to the development of a city. If the government focuses more on preserving natural environment, the speed of development would be slow and the bright future would be damaged, and vice verse. Because of the potential interaction and subtle connection between them, we should consider the issue more profoundly and seriously. In China, the pattern of development is called sustainable development, which emphasizes on the balance between the natural environment and economic development.
All in all, I recommend the method of sustainable development, focusing equally on preserving natural environment and on economic development.
