开赛前写的献丑～～
FOOTBALL AND I
With World Cup in the air, I can still smell the wistful scent which filled the summer of 2002 when World Cup, a frankly mimic warfare, took place and made tears swelled out of my eyes.

Hearing Collina’s whistle announcing the final’s closing, I knew it was all over. I saw Cafu holding Jules Rimet Cup up in the sky while other delighted Brazil players smiled brightly, greatly proving “ He who laughs last laughs best.”

However, Kahn, the German goalkeeper kept running on my mind. With infinite helplessness and loss in his eyes Kahn sat at the goal like a deeply wounded lion. Yes it was he who once rescued Germany from the abyss of danger. However faced with the mighty Brazil Kahn betrayed his helplessness. Though regarded by Germans as a hero, Kahn could not alter the fate of becoming a transient visitor to the World Cup.

However Kahn was only one of those grieve souls.

In Batistuta’s tears erupted heavy roar.
After all Batigol is growing old. Stripped the gorgeous campaign gown Batigol left the holy altar and in the passing of the splendid success leaves an indefinable longing.

In Figo’s tears concealed disappointment of sudden awareness. Maybe the name Golden Generation is merely a ridiculous boast. Therefore he had to learn to obtain pleasure from losing and satisfaction from regret.

In Totti’s tears blazed furious fever. A red card which sealed up all his glorious memory was the only thing Prince of Rome brought home with. A savoir he was not. But a knight lingering between nobility and humbleness.

World Cup is an ephemeral dream on which too much fantasy and lust are imposed. However by no means can we live in dreams forever. We have reality, brutal or cheerful, to face when we wake up. Only a few people can endure to shine their smiles at last while others just said farewells to Jules Rimet Cup and walked off silently with scars of incomplete dreams.

Yes world cup is only a game which may make people weak and pale.

However, in a few days when World Cup beckons to you, follow him with fervent passion, though his ways may be full of tears and heartache.
And when he speaks to you, believe in him, though his words of outcome may shatter the dreams of you and your favourite player or team.
Why? You may wonder.
It is because upcoming World Cup is the fire of desire, language of universe and the eternal sunshine of the whole summer.
