前几天网申了University of Colorado Boulder，对于statement of purpose是这么要求的:"Describe briefly your past work in your proposed or allied fields of study, including noncourse educational experiences, teaching, or other relevant employment, publications, theses, research in progress, other scholarly activities, and your plans for graduate study and a professional career. Check your program's web site to see if they have different requirements for the Statement of Purpose than those listed above. If applicants wish to include a resume with their Statement of Purpose, it must be combined and uploaded as one multiple-page document. "

由于我平常参加的学术活动不多（导师忙别的去了），只有一次助教经历，论文也没发表过，只有几篇课程论文以及未完成的毕业论文，所以想请问下各位这封ps该怎么写？这种要求是不是说明该校对学生研究经历比较看重？我在论坛搜了下貌似收到offer的人不多，这是否意味着我这种情况的没啥希望了？希望大家帮忙看看

1, this is just a general guide, maybe not for economics specially. so you can apply without too much research experience, as long as you have strong grade etc.

2, not all those who get offers will report on Gter. it is better to also refer to the BBS of Tsinghua, PKU...... and your own school.

多谢！
我昨天也发了封email问经济系的小米，现在还没回我。如果没有特殊要求的话，即使只是"general guide"是不是也得按他的问题写？还有就是能不能写些其他的内容，比如解释一下某门课程为什么分数不高？

my suggestion is never explain why you get low grade even if it is allowed. it might be a bad signal saying this person is not willing to be responsible for his/her own past performance.

you can say what you know about what people of big name do in your field, as an indication of your knowledge of the field, if you really have no independent work.
