Many of the world's lesser-known languages are being lost as fewer and fewer people speak them. The governments of countries in which these languages are spoken should act to prevent such languages from becoming extinct.

借鉴草草的分析,很受用~!

【题目拆解】

Many of the world's lesser-known languages are being lost as fewer and fewer people speak them. The governments of countries in which these languages are spoken should act to prevent such languages from becoming extinct.

Part one--Many of the world's lesser-known languages are being lost as fewer and fewer people speak them.

【主】lesser-known languages

Part two--The governments of countries in which these languages are spoken should act to prevent such languages from becoming extinct.

(限定:which these languages are spoken
一定要注意这个,不少人会忽视,然后就跑题了的,对should的立意,一定要紧扣government的动机取向

注意这个动作是preventM-W: to keep from happening or existing

【宾】such languages

5、
结尾。

The statement of the speaker consists of two claims: (1) that many minor languages in the world are in danger of extinction since they used by fewer and fewer people and (2) that the governments of countries in which these languages are spoken should take some action in order to prevent such irrecollectable treasures from lost in our hands. I agree with these two claims that the user’s number of a certain language predominates the reservation of this language as well as its inheritance, and government undoubtedly plays the major role through the whole language protection. Yet strictly followed, merely actions from the government are far from security of a better future of a certain language which is in imminent danger. Moreover, in my view, there are a lot of other factors that bring about the trend of lesser-known language except for its user’s number.

It is always said that where there is a different language, there is a unique culture. The origin and growth of each language is accompanied by the beginning, thriving, changing of a culture. As the precious legacy handed down by ancestors, a language is the key to the study and preservation of a culture. An American, for example, would never understand why we Chinese tend to say:” Guo Jiang.” (means “I’m flattered”) rather than “Thank you!” when we even receive reasonable praises from others, if he/she has not been told that Chinese people regard modest as a kind of virtue. While there are an estimated 7,000 languages spoken around the world today, one of them dies out about every two weeks, according to linguistic experts. Invariably, this saying is used to point out that the lost of a lesser-known language, which followed by the lost of its unique culture, is not different from an extinction of a kind of specie. What’s more, when we lose a language, we not only a way of communication, but also centuries of human thinking about time, seasons, sea creatures, reindeer, edible flowers, mathematics, landscapes, myths, music, the unknown and the everyday.

Considering languages have such magnificent significances throughout the whole development of human being stated above, in order to take efficient and effective actions for the preservation of endangered lesser-known languages, the fundamental factor contribute to the extinction of which should we find out. To some extent, except for lesser-known languages were being used by fewer and fewer people, it’s the aftermath of colonization, in which the colonized countries brought their own languages there and set it as the official language, bring about the trend. Though many of these once colonized countries got back their own authority dozens of years ago, the impaction on culture and language has lasted till today and the original ones seem to be impossible to be retrieved any more. Even in some countries where there has never been any kind of colonization in its history, the golden days of multi-language have passed. Moreover, the modernization and industrialization, which ask for a massive communication and interaction between people from around the country or even from foreign countries; Migration, which is vital in the blending and mixing of different cultures; as well as youngsters, who are the inheritor of traditional culture and language, are refusing to play the role as the link in the chain; play crucial roles in this lesser-known language dying out trend.

Notwithstanding heightening the importance of government, in my observation, the destiny of a lesser-known language also depends on other people as members of a country, such as artists and educators. Artists, as cultures ambassadors of their country, who could spread unique and lesser-known arts, such as special kinds of music, ways of painting and so forth, to every corner of the world, would make more and more people of countries in which these languages are not spoken begin to love those arts and willing to learn them. Thus the preservation of those languages would become possible. Also, if those languages and colorful cultures would be taught by more and more qualified educators, the heritage of both of them would never be a dream.

By and large, as the extinction of lesser-known languages can be a result of multi-factors, they also could be prevented by variety kinds of ways, people and organizations. Admittedly, these dead languages are of quite importance in human progress, but for the government, they have to take responsibilities for leading their people to the best way.
