"The human mind will always be superior to machines because machines are only tools of human minds."
   The speaker asserts that since machines are only tools of human minds ,they will be invariably be inferior to human mind. In my view ,the speaker at least commits two mistakes.
   First of all ,how to define 'superior'? When we talk about the accuracy, speed and number-addressing,how can we say that we human beings are superior to machines? Every kind of machines is created to own an utilitarian function ,in turn , it has great advantages over human .Computer can deal with a lot of data with significant complexity ;Cars can reach the speed of ,at most 200 kilometers per hour ;Hoist can lift the strength several times itself, to name a few.All the foregoing mentioned things ,humans cannot fulfill. However ,when we talk about the creativity ,critical thinking ,or emotional performance ,humans prevail to machines indeed ,since machines have very little thought, if any ,to indictate themselves. Currently ,the most intelligent machine may be the robot, which can do some simple and routine things automatically .But it still can't do the independent thinking ,let alone research or innovation.
   Admitedly , with the respect of creativity ,thinking and emotion , the human minds are significantly superior to machines at present .However ,no one can assert that machines will never surpass human minds. As technology and science are developing with incredible speed ,many things which were believed impossile have become reality .People in decades or centuries ago might never imagine the Internet ,airplanes, air conditioners and a myriad of other magic things ,let alone that people can step into the moon someday ,which are all realized today .In 2001 ,the 'deep blue ',an intelligent computer,defeated Chinese top chess player, which makes great influence on populace.It seems to predict that machines,even though made by humans,will utimately surpass human beings in every realm. And now,scientists and scholars endeavors to create new-type machines which can think independently and express emotions freely like humans .Even though such machines have not yet been created ,I have enough confidence to believe that there will be a machine superior to human minds.
   In sum ,I strongly disagree with the speaker's assertion that the human mind will always be superior to machines and that machines are only tools of human minds .And we needn't slip into panic when that day comes ,I believe humans will come up with ways to stay in harmony with those intelligent machines accordingly and lift our lives to a higher level.

芬兰赫尔辛基 VS 继续等德国学校出结果

楼主有幸拿了赫尔辛基CS的全奖offer，但是因为本身申请的最初目的是想留下找工的，所以一直想去德国。但是现在五月中旬我所有的德国申请没有一点消息，等待很艰难。在想着要不要接了芬兰的开始准备了。主要原因有几点： 1. 芬兰安全，且学生生活还是很愉快的 2. 芬兰毕业后可以去欧陆其他国家找工但是不知道可行性如何，来求助一下uu们的意见，谢谢大家了?

1??Uchicago CIR （$30k scholarship，老牌跳板，大牛教授多但是要选新老阵营，想读博的学生多，教授资源竞争激烈，一年项目要gap，转两年的机会渺茫） 2??UCSD MIA （两年项目，quant?，相关方向的教授多也可以转东亚方向，职业导向的项目跟我抢教授的人相对少，本科给打工的phd可能可以继续跟） 3??Oxford Mphil in IR （两年项目，偏理论/历史，本校博士直通车但是回美国难度大）

EE选校，北美VS欧陆

南加大担心预算不够，仅百万预算。不太清楚南加大的MS EE要多少钱，了解的uu麻烦评论区讲讲。目标：润＞读博＞回国找工 VLSI集成电路那边接触较少，可能跨度会比较大。据说USC人多？师生比不太好？

新国立NUS VS美国密歇根安娜堡（生物硕）

nus：新项目，隶属医学院，叫应用生物医学一年制，学校会安排进实验室。跟本科专业比较对口安娜堡：癌症化学生物，隶属于生物系，一年制，学校官网上讲成绩前几名可以直接转博士我一定会读博，且希望在硕士期间能够有一些文章产出，所以就想问一下，这两个学校哪个读博士比较容易？就是升博士比较顺利，害怕硕士毕业需要做一年ra。博士毕业后会直接回国，哪个学校会比较有知名度一点呢
