Whether education is just a personal matter and has nothing to do with school and college? In my respective, though I in some sense concede that education have seemingly important significance to oneself, yet I strongly consist that no one could ignore the crucial role played by both schools or colleges in the process.

Admittedly, education is the way for people to acquire the ability and knowledge, which will somehow determine the further development and functions in the society. So, it is of great importance in one's process of growing-up. And in order to learn well and then lead a wonderful life later in life, one should spare no effort to absorb information with the aim to function well in societies when grown-up.

However, in broad meaning, education is also referred to the behaviors or actions that may have effects on both one's behaviors and minds as well to pass down the accumulated and selective knowledge and skills from one generation to another. So we can see, in this way, education cannot simply achieved on one's own toes, it also calls for the help and support from society, in which both schools and colleges weigh a lot.

At first, in the spiritual aspect, it is by the process of education that one gradually possesses the awareness of what is right and what is wrong, and acquires the ability to tell the evil from kindness, which will finally conform one's value system, the criteria a individual to judge the world companying all one's life. In this aspect, for one individual especially for a child or teenager who has not mature enough, if all by oneself, he or she may be vulnerable to be mislead by something negative, such like some kinds of popular music with the idea that is just the opposite from what is embraced by the mainstream in the society. And in turn, it will do great harm to one’s growth both physiologically and spiritually.

What is more, in the respect of acquiring knowledge, it is also the school that may provide the better environment than learning by oneself. Actually, there is a increasing number of people who prefer home-schooling, since one's strong religions or potentials in certain areas. However, no one should deny the great significance and advantage the schooling education or formal education made in the process for one’s growing-up. At first, it is in the primary schools that one get access to numerous of common sense and basic knowledge such like math and languages, with the development for one's good habits in both learning and daily life at the same time, such as doing homework in time and getting to sleep early at night, those may have far-reaching all through one's life. And then, it is in the secondary schools and high schools that one gradually pays more and more attentions to the introductory information for diverse branches of knowledge, chemistry, physics, biology and such like, which not only do help their choosing for their major in college, but also provide the basic ability for one's survival in society. So every student, whether in the need for a college diploma or not will get a lot in this phrase of education. And at the same time, in secondary schools, one can also develop a lot in the sense of creativity and cooperation, in the provided environment by a diversity of activities after class, from debates to baseball games, and so forth. And to add up, we should never ignore the importance of college, in which one learns to inspect the world we live and how it works step by step, and also finds one's own place in it. So we can see, it is the schools that provides us the chance, the environment to develop in both our knowledge and abilities.

Some people may argue that although the formal education in schools or colleges have quite a lot of advantages, yet, one can only pursue one's own interest and explore one's special talents by learning by oneself. Maybe, it does make some sense, however, in the increasingly developed society, which pays more attentions to the demand of mixed-knowledge people, whose knowledge are all-sided, ranging from economics to arts. So the person excelling in only one field may be not in need of the future society, let alone such genius may have some flaws in some certain abilities or morality.

So, to sum up, for one's education, it is not determined solely by oneself, actually it demands a lot for the supports from schools and colleges, which may provide the perfect chances, appropriate environment for people's development in both knowledge, abilities and minds.
