Do you agree or disagree with the following statement:
It is more important for the government to spend money on art museums and concert halls than on recreational facilities such as swimming pools and playgrounds.
There has been a long-standing debate on the question that whether government should spend more money on art museums and concert halls or the recreational facilities such as swimming pools and playgrounds. Some people may support one side to this problem. However, in my point of view, they are equally important factors to the government.
Let's first take a look at the art museums and the concert halls. Playing a fairly important role in a country, the level of its art museums and concert halls represents the cultural standing of a country. For one thing, historical relics in the art museums, such as paintings, sculptures, jewelries and so on, tell people stories of history and the process of the development. They are from different time periods and different destinies, but all are the symbols of the country. For example, when people first visit a country, the museum is the place they most likely to be because they can have a better understanding of the history and development of this country in a more vivid and impressive way. So the government should spend more money on art museums. Also for another thing, the performances in the concert halls get people know a country from a new and fresh perspective. Thus, more money should be spent on art museums and concert halls.
Nevertheless, the improvement of the recreational facilities such as swimming pools and playgrounds is as crucial as the one discussed before. It is no denying that people are in a highly requirement to such facilities. According to some recent researches, people are feeling more pressures than ever due to the high-pace of the society, and thus, they are asking for more facilities to entertain and relax themselves. If governments spend more money on the recreational facilities, people can easily find a way to let themselves happy. Take me and my friends as an example. We often hang on to the swimming pools in the hot summer, for one thing that it can take away our pressures on our studies and for another thing that sharing precious time with friends can let me forget the troubles in my daily life but to enjoy the fun moment. So it is of great important for government to spend money on the recreational facilities.
In conclusion, both cultural aspect and recreational facilities are indispensable parts in the development of the country. So money should be wisely spent on such improvement to make the country better.
