1、独立:【20091031NA】Do you agree or disagreewith the following statement? It is ot good to move to a new city ora new country because you will lose old friends.8 ]3 J) @3 p) ^*G S
Some people often argue that it is not goodto move to a new city or a new country because you will lose old friends. Itsounds reasonable at first glance. However, in my opinion, the statement islogically wrong with its first assumption, which means I do not agree with theconclusion.
First, it is problematic to say that youwill lose old friend only because you move to a new country. True friendship issomewhat like gold, remaining reliable with long time passed out and greatdistance kept away. Actually, true friend always keeps you in mind, no matter whenthe year is, where the place you are. Great distance does not destroy thefriendship, but enhances it. Moreover, in era with different kinds ofcommunication tools and fast transportation, it is rather convenient for you toget in touch with your friends, even if they live in the moon.
Second, you can make acquaintance with alot of new friends in a new city or country. In a totally differentenvironment, you will meet people with different interest, personality andnationality. Therefore, It is not difficult for you to find friends with commonattitude and inclination. Also, the one who is confined in a limited countrycould be respectively confined in limited knowledge. Consequently, moving to anew place can not only make you more connected, but also enlarge your vision.
Finally, it is a good chance for you toexperience exotic and amazing life in a new country. Heading for adventure ishuman nature, since people have travelled all kind of places over thousands ofyears. Historically speaking, those who travelled a lot not only made theirlife exciting , but also devoted great contribution to human development. Therefore it could be a excellent chance for you to challenge yourself and makeprogress, if you move to a new city.
In conclusion, it is quite amazing for youto move to a new city or country. You will not only keep still closecommunication with your old friends, but also have new acquaintances, enlargeyour vision and make great progress.

The reading passage argued that ethanolfuel was not a good replacement for gasoline for several reasons. However, thespeaker of the listening passage rejected all the three reasons it gave.
First, the reading passage claimed thatcarbon dioxide released by burning ethanol, could contribute to global warming, because carbon dioxide held heat in the atmosphere. However, the listeningrejected that plants used to produce ethanol fuel in fact absorbed the carbondioxide in the air. Therefore green-house gas released by the burning ofethanol could greatly not be any contribution to global warming.
Second, the passage argued that greatproduction of ethanol would lead to dramatical reduce of production of plantsfor animals, which meant that much of the animals would lack a source for food. But the speaker soon claimed that xxxxx(don’t know what the shit) used toproduce ethanol was actually not eaten by animal. Consequently it would notaffect the food supply for animals.
Finally, the reading passage pointed thatethanol fuel would never be able to compete with gasoline on price only becausethey had been compensated by federal government. However, the speaker statedthat the relatively high price of ethanol fuel nowadays, was in fact due to itsrelatively low production. According to a recent research, he claimed that theprice of ethanol fuel would drop by 40 percent per unit, if the production ofethanol plants would tripple.
In conclusion, the speaker logically rejectthe reading passage with persuasive facts and reasoning. Therefore, ethanolfuel made from plants would have great chance to be an alternative to gasolinein the United States. |
