The article concludes that the daily use of Ichthaid would serve as a good way to prevent colds and lower absenteeism in West Meria because eating a substantial amount of fish can prevent colds. Well, close scrutiny of the argument and evidences it bases, more evidences need to be provided to better assess the conclusion
First of all, I need strong evidences to prove that Ichthaid-a nutritional supplement derived from fish oil-would has the same effect as fish to prevent colds and the daily use of Ichthaid would be sufficient to the level to prevent colds. Because Ichthaid is just a supplement derived from fish oil, so it would be that Ichthaid is not the critical element in fish that play the major role to effectively prevent cold, it would be too many elements in fish, not just the fish oil only-that work to prevent cold. Besides, the daily use of Ichthaid would not be sufficient enough to make sense, thus, the daily use of Ichthaid would do no favor to prevent colds, this fact would significantly undermine the article`s conclusion.
Second, evidences need to be provided to prove that people in East Meria have the same living habits and environment with those in West Meria. The article need to prove that people in East Meria do not exercise more frequently than people in the west, neither do they have a good diet which contains effective elements to prevent colds, they do not work under higher pressures either, additional, the environment in the east is as good as that in the west. But the article contains no evidences to clarify this, then, it would be totally possible that people in the east would exercise more to build up a stronger body, and the diet in the east is much more beneficial to a good health, besides, the environment in the east is much better and suitable in the east and people there do not have too much pressures about life and work, then they would easily have good a good time every day. If so, such a fact would further undermine the article`s argument.
Finally, I need evidences to prove that people in East Meria, when get colds, would definitely go to see a doctor instead of stay at home. It would be considerably possible that people in the East Meria would stay at home and simply have some medicine to kill colds if the situation is not so serious, and would not be so willing to go to see a doctor even when the situation is out of their control. Thus, the reported patients go to see the doctor for the treatment of colds would be significantly much lower than other places. Thus, the article`s argument would be baseless.
In sum, the article based upon certain doubtful evidences that render it unconvincing as it stands. To better bolster it, I need strong evidences--may be through a reliable survey or study--to prove that it is Ichthaid that play the major role to prevent colds, and the daily use of Ichthaid would be sufficient to make sense, I also need evidence to prove that people in the east have the same living habits and environment as those in the west, and people in the east would of course go to see a doctor when get colds.
