14"It is necessary for everyone to read poetry, novels, mythology and other types of imaginative literature."

Progresses in science and technology have changed the world a lot since the 20th century and is becoming more and more manifest in the modern world. The idea of science loom large in the people's mind. Frankly speaking, it is the science that make Man to live a comfortable life and to take charge of this world. Consequently, people attach greater and greater importance to the science and technology. People was awarded the Nobel prize for contribution to the science discovery and technology development. It seems that a young people who major in science promise to have a glorious future than those in literature. Many collage graduates put themselves into the world of programming and calculating, without any spare time to have a glance at literature.

People begin to wonder: is it right.

For hundred of years, the person contributed a lot to literature was written into the textbook, just as those to science. Their novels or poetry have the power which could bring the reader to a realm of imagination. They convey a hint of beauty and serenity greater than we can imagine. They give a place where the tired people can rest in. They guide the hasty people to find the beauty and love in the real world. There should be something to balance the science and technology in people's life. The imaginative literature may be a splendid choice.

In addition, the imaginative literature is also helpful to the researches in science. While reading the literature, the reader is free to let their imagination soar, which is very same when scientist get into their work. For instance, the astronomy need imagination for people could not see galaxy far away from earth. The biologist also have to imagine how the virus do bad to our body and how the immune system expel all of them. The imaginative literature could surely benefit our ability of imagination.

Finally, some of the literature contains wisdom which is handed over generation by generation. Many fabulous story give people a lesson vividly, which have a much better educational effect than the textbook. The literature is the precious treasure inherit from our ancestor which we have to make good use of.

However, every coin have two sides. Nowadays, some of the literature is occupied by the violence and eroticism which have a bad influence on the society especially the juvenile. They do bad things learned from the imaginative story and put their glorious future to an end. So one thing we have to do is keep juvenile far from these kinds of story.

In summary, my opinion to the imaginative literature is that the modern world need the literature to balance the science and technology. We should encourage people to read poetry and other kinds of literature. At the same time, we have to sweep the unhealthy thought out of the literature and also give people a guide to the literature by means of education and media.
