You must schedule an English proficiency exam for as soon as possible. If your goal is to meet the assessment eligibility criteria, we must have those official scores on file no later than June 1 (June 15 at the latest). This is because the assessment carries an AEPP requirement.
The processing time for an I-20 is a minimum of three weeks. This means we must be able to send you the instructions in time for you to schedule your visa interview, which should not be scheduled until you have the I-20 document in hand. As it can take up to a month to schedule the visa interview, this means at a minimum, we must have an official exam on file – either the TOEFL / IELTS or assessment - no later than July 1. As it can take up to 6 weeks for official test reports to be received, this means the exam should be taken absolutely no later than June 1. It is best to meet the English proficiency requirement as soon as possible.
