  I fundenmentally agree with the assertion that the intense media coverage tend to demean the the reputation of the heroes or would-be heroes,the chief reason for that involve the nature of the media and the eagerness of the people to find information about the misdeeds and misfortunes of others, both will discussed in this essay.However the intense coverage,in some cases,does not discredit the hero's reputation to the extent that the we never regard the hero as hero any more.
Our society is fraught with the desire to know other's ungraceful demeanors.Then the meida,driving by the profit-seeking mitivation,try to pander this desire regardless of the harm to the subjects.they try to find out what affairs can gain the most attention from the mass,then the public figures come into their horizons.Becuase the public is eager to know somethings contrary to the public figure's normal features.Moreover the media has the ability to magnify the facts,that means they can turn a trivia into a striking news. Therefore ,if the public fiure,especially a hero,commit a peccadillo or carry a unagreeable character,the media will magnify it to the extent that the mass will regard it as a big blunt or flaw.in this sense,it is impossible for any hero to maintain a perfect image in the pubic's mind.
  At the public's part,many of the people lack the ability to distinguish  what is  exaggration and what fact.they tend to believe what they are informed by the media.Due to the lack of the critical thinking ability,they are inclined to participate in the activity to demean the hero by means of discussing with the friends or post articles on the internet.
However,the facts above do not follow that the uncover of the flaws of the hero render he/her cease to be hero .evryone with a common sense agrees that a hero is also human, also has foibles and inevitably commits mistakes.A really civilized socity is a tolerant society in which every peccadilo can be accepted.Therfore,despite the reveal of the hero's unagreeable news,the hero can maitain or regain his/her reputation.A striking example can illustrate this point aptly,in China,nearly everyone regards Chair Mao as our nation's hero in spite of his unsuccessful leadership in his old age.This failure does not overwhelm the remarkable contribution he made to our nation in his early age.In addition,we all know no one is perfect,and Chair Mao was also not exempt from this rule.
  in sum,To have heroes is a boon for the moral education and an idication of a tolerant society.Although the media mainly serve to tarnish the hero's reputation,the hero is still hero not for his/her mistake but for his/her contribuite to the society.
