177. "The study of an academic discipline alters the way we perceive the world. After studying the discipline, we see the same world as before, but with different eyes."
Does the study of an academic discipline alter the way we perceive the world? The speaker claims so. I contend that the study of an academic discipline indeed deepens and enlarges the understanding of world.

First, after studying an academic discipline, we perceive the world from a new angle, which provides us a new concept to the same world. An apt illustration is the study of biology. It is well-known that biology teaches us the essence of life. From the study of genetic, we know gene plays an important role in many respects, such as longevity, immunity, behavior, disease, and personality. So when we confront difficulty, some people feel disappointed and pessimistic, while others may feel active and optimistic. Why? Before the study of genetic, we may draw the conclusion that the environment or the different personality determines the different attitudes; nevertheless, after the study of genetic, we see the issue from a new angle that the gene also works as an act in the process. Maybe some one is born with optimism, while others might be easily susceptible to pessimism. By knowing this, we form a new concept to the new world; that is, thing is determined not only by the outside world but also by human itself. This aptly illustrates that an academic actually influences the angle we see the world and then forms new and different ideas.

Secondly, the study of an academic discipline deepens the understanding of the new world. From the study of many scientific disciplines, we enhance the understanding of the world. After studying of space knowledge, we knows that there are nothing but planets in the space; after studying an biology, we know that man and women have the same number of bones; from the study of computer, we knows the world fast and accurately. In short, the study of an academic greatly enhances the understanding of the world.

Finally yet importantly, the study of an academic enlarges the knowledge of the whole world. We clearly know what happens in the different part of the world and what the total trend of the world is through the study of the world trend. Is the world trend bright or dark? The key is that the world is replete with kinds of peace as well as war, but the total trend is peace. With this concept, we feel more confident to the future and we see the world bright and beautiful rather than dark and hideous.

In sum, the study of an academic discipline enlarges and deepens the understanding of the world.

From the study of genetic, we know gene plays an important role in many respects（aspects）, such as longevity, immunity, behavior, disease, and (加一个to some extent even)personality. So when we confront difficulty, some people feel disappointed and pessimistic, while others may feel active and optimistic. Why? Before the study of genetic, we may draw the conclusion that the environment or the different personality determines the different attitudes; nevertheless, after the study of genetic, we see the issue from a new angle that the(去掉？！) gene also works as an act（？） in the process. Maybe some one（someone） is born with optimism, while others might be easily susceptible(去掉easily，不然意思重复！) to pessimism. By knowing this, we form a new concept to the new world（you know, this issue is talking about some "...the same world,but with different eyes". So it is unwise to say "the new world"!）; that is, thing is determined not only by the outside world but also by human itself(by our instinct). This aptly illustrates that an academic (这个主语有问题，it is by studying academic not by academic itself that will angle our observation to a new one!)actually influences the angle we see the world and then forms new and different ideas.

Secondly, the study of an academic discipline deepens the understanding of the new world(同上！). From the study of many scientific disciplines, we enhance the understanding of the world（repeated!）.
