How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society."

This assertion involves with two contentions: one is the importance of socialization of children to the destiny of society. Another is we human beings have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society. I fundamentally I agree with the first contention, as children are the future of a society. But I am not quite agree with the second one, as I believe we have known how to educate children.

The socialization process of children plays vital function is one’s society as they will guide and rule the society in the near future. The better we educating our children, the better our society will be. For example, , the head-start program implemented among children from poor families few years ago in USA aimed at reducing the rate of crime, drug addiction, early pregnancy of yougth achieved great social benefits as diminishing the potential risks to society. Thereby, the goal of constructing a better society can be obtained by install good education to young kids.

after we recognizing the importance of educating children, Have we insofar not found any effective ways to socialize our children. I am afraid not. human infant are born without cultural, they are transformed by parents, teachers and others who take care of them into cultural and socially adept animals. There are two main ways to socialize, one is the formal education which happens in classroom, and other is informal education which can be happened at home, community and other public places. In both ways, we achieved greatly.

When referring formal education, great advance in the history of education should not be forgotten. In the early of last century, these was no school towards children who did not reach the school age(normally 7 or 8), since scientist and educator have discovered the crucial function of early education, pre-school and day care have been built. Children who took early education tended to work better both in the aspects of intellect and social communication when they grew up.

While coming to informal education, parents teach us to discriminate good deeds and evil deeds ever since kids begin to learn the world around them; relatives, friends, and people they acquainted teach them to communicate with others, to accept different ideas, and to adapt to the change of society. Consider, for instance, when a little child goes to the play ground, the first things he or she learns is to talk to other children in order to join them in the games, then through games, he/she learns social manners—taking turns to play, sharing the toys and so on.; when he/ she grows up, he/ she learns to help others when he/ she self receives help from others; he/ she learns trust and honest from friendship. The whole society as a bigger classroom teaches children with both experience and lessons.

In sum, in my view, the problem we face is not that how to educate children, but how we can better educate them. However, it is bliss to see that the way we educate our children is indeed improving adapting to the advancement of our society.
