The statement that "Worthy goals deserve any means" is somewhat exaggerated to extreme, for not only it is hard to determine which goal is worthy, but also to encourage everyone to try any method to reach his/her goal, this world will drop in chaos.

To begin with, worthy goals differs to every individual and each nation, generally speaking, the criterion is quite subjective. For someone who suffers from poverty all the childhood, to struggle for a great amount of property will be a worthy goal; For someone who never enjoys the happiness of family, to establish and maintain a sweet family is a worthy goal. For a country always undergoes great rate of unemployment, terrible famine, a worthy goal will be economic booming, while for a country lacks a potent government and the society is in a chaos, people may define the country's worthy goal as a strong authoritive institute. However, not all worthy goals are harmless to other people on the surface. Given a man who always dreams of his neighbor's beautiful wife sets the goal to win her back as a worthy goal, calamity will visit the harmonious family. Suppose a company aims to take the whole market, home and abroad, though it seems a worthy goal for itself, such goal is a disaster to other companies, even worse, the monopoly will damage the economy all over the world. What's more, a once worthy goal may falls into worthless. Since everything is changing and developing in this world, so do people's goals. In this sense, worthy goal is an ambiguous definition.

To urge people take any way to get the so-called worthy goal will damage the stable society, as well as the goal itself. For one thing, society consists of different people with various goals desirable to themselves. To maintain the order, every individual should consider other people's interest. Take a example to illustrate, anyone may dream to be rich, since money can smooth daily life. Nevertheless, when any method is justifiable, some may choose to rob the bank, steal other people's wallets, even commit murder. Then what the society will be? No one will work, as nothing is guaranteed and no rights are protected, therefore, money from work will be worthless. In this sense, individuals should confine their behaviors under law, no matter how worthy their goals are. To social groups, such as companies, laws and morals should also be took into consideration when deciding means for the suitable goals. For another, worthy goals may decay because of the means. Once the means bring more disaster than the supposed merits, worthy goals lose their original value. Take Nixon for example, as a successful American president, trying to win a reelect is reasonable and worthy not only him but also the USA. However, when he adopted the immoral way, his goal lost its potential value.

In sum, to get a orderly society, everyone should weigh his/her goal properly. More important, adopting the lawful and suitable way to realize the goal, thus, maintaining the merit .

不知道你所说的水是不是就是列举一大堆排比的事实啊？可能是有点分析不够的样子。我觉得就是价值是靠各自的标准衡量的，每个人的标准不一样，每个人的期待不一样，因此价值观也不同。但是，总是还有一些目标是可以被大多数人公认为有价值的，你似乎忽略了对这一点的论述。
