Most media especially television, seem more and more popular in human life, but they fail to replace the traditional way-books to spread knowledge. They are popular because they provide vivid views, and they fail because of their original motive of entertainment.
We could study without teachers, but never without literatures. Book rules in the field of pedagogy ever since its appearance. Incisive words and splendid theories crowd books written by illuminati, ever graceful, never colliding. The situation is changed and improved now, more fashionable and faster. Today, the most crucial achievements and researches are detailed in written work and circulated in journals. PC magazine, the most notable PC journal in the world, provides authority advancements in the field, and widely accepted by people. It makes trenchant analysis of PC market, has professional testing technologies, and serves credible and real comments about relative products. So it is regarded as the most influential magazine of PC, and has incomparable huge circulation. Science, the most famous magazine in the field the title represents, includes recent accomplishments on top of human research, and that also proves the irreplaceable importance of books.
On the other hand, television is developed both as a way of entertainment for the public and a profitable tactic for media giant. This determines that the programs served are more likely to cater people's taste of amusement rather than to impart knowledge. Profit acts as an incitation to develop the career of television relative media, like directors, actors, and so forth, instead of incentive of education expanse. People talk about the best dramas during prime time rather than preview how much they learn. Accordingly, television will never turn their motive on those profits to providing a factual knowledge impartment, so this media cannot supply as much useful knowledge as books do.
Televisions and other video media, however, do favor to survey information faster and more vivid with its advantages in communication and video display. Schools in increasing numbers, especially primitive ones, utilize media pedagogy to attract youth students and escalate their approaches of education. This is undoubtedly improving their quality. For one thing, for many youth students holding an innate animation, pictures and videos seem to be more interesting than boring words in books. The media approach, to some extent, helps to make students concentrate. And anther does contribute a lot to abstract theories where word description seems awkward. "For the originality and goes of the universe, people would catch more from a movie but a list of mathematical formulas, which appears not necessary." said Stephen Hawking, the writer of A Brief History of Time, a authority book explains cosmic source and phenomena. Actually, television does much better to explain some inexpressible problems.
To sum up, books' important roles in education and impartment of knowledge would never fade away. With the development of media technologies, television and other media tools are to add various ways to inculcate, but never dominate.
