TOPIC: ISSUE56 - "Governments should focus more on solving the immediate problems of today rather than trying to solve the anticipated problems of the future."

Never has a government failed to be blamed for variety of potential and already emerged problems. These problems, as a outgrowth of the roaring advancement of economy, technology and population increasing, has placed governments in the vital positions where they have to balance and solve the conflicts in every realm of the society with limited resources. With several considerations, I generally agree that the immediate temporal problems require significant and efficiency solutions, yet the anticipated future problems cannot be overlooked as well.

For the sake of the whole society, it’s undeniable that solving immediate problems can benefit the social stability. To begin with, internal harmoniousness contributes to the whole society. Just as an old Chinese saying said, first accommodating, and then cultivation. To be contrary, severe social problems threaten the steady management of a government. When people are in hunger, It's hard to imagine that a government will succeed in maintaining a steady management if lots of domestic people are in famine and poverty. Africa countries have illustrated it with many examples. To be contrary, after the reform and opening-up policy, which was supposed to solve the stagnancy problem, was raised at around 1978 in China, the social cohension was dramatically fomented as a result, and thus China entered a new era with a vigorous development. Hence, solving immediate problems is a inescapable responsibility of the governments to better the society.

Secondly, same in the sense of a society, economy can also be improved in a short time by solutions for problems. For example, the number 2 of worldwide problems on a list of a relevant conference report in 2008 is to widen free trade by means of the Doha Development Agenda. It was said, success at Doha trade negotiations could boost global income by $3 trillion per year, of which $2.5 trillion would go to the developing countries. At one of the main researchers explained, "Trade reform would make people in developing countries better off right now. There are large benefits in the short run and the long run benefits are enormous." As a standard to judge whether a government is successful or not, economy problems solving undoubtedly bolstered the evaluating.

Moreover, the contemporary individuals can also get better welfare through the solving of urgent problems, in the aspects of medical treatment, education and others. More than the aggressive purpose concerning the society interests, the humanitarian attention in a larger extent reflects the global attention for the social problems. Children medical assistant has been listed as an important plan of U.K government recently, and similarly, Chinese government has been subsidizing the girl students to get regular education who are not able to pay the school fees for more than 20 years. Furthermore, these effective measures to solve the current problems of society, established good premise for the society to get better confidence from its people.

Nonetheless, the above demonstrating doesn’t automatically amount to the unimportance of the effort to solve the anticipated problems of the future. “The hope of tomorrow resides in the seed of today.” Lincoln well represented the relationship between today and future. Only with the enough anticipation for future’s problems can people today pay attention to their daily activity and thus these problems will be diminished or deracinated. Appropriate anticipation will not only provoke people’s conscious to avoid the bad influence, but also promote the corresponding actions to change the direction. In that case, pollution and global warming will someday disappear, and a better planet will be there for our progeny.

In conclusion, governments should consider the question about how to achieve a balance between solving the immediate problems of today and meanwhile not giving up solving the anticipated problems of the future with their best, to make the people, both in now also in future, can enjoy the environment as much as we can.

For the sake of the whole society, it’s undeniable that solving immediate problems can benefit the social stability. To begin with, internal harmoniousness contributes to the whole society. Just as an old Chinese saying said, first accommodating, and then cultivation. To be contrary(To the contrary), severe social problems threaten the steady management of a government. When people are in hunger, It's hard to imagine that a government will succeed in maintaining a steady management if lots of domestic people are in famine and poverty. Africa countries have illustrated it with many examples. Hence, solving immediate problems is a inescapable responsibility of the governments to better the society.
Secondly, same in the sense of a society, economy can also be improved in a short time by solutions for problems.(什么问题 immediate or anticipated?应该写清楚)

评语:作者的作文表现出很大的词汇量和语言能力。例子也很丰富。学习学习。但是一点意见是,作者的观点很平衡,但是文章论述却厚此薄彼,会使主体段对论点的支持减弱。
