In the memo the president of the chain of cheese stores located throughout the United States decides to discontinue stocking many of imported cheese and concentrate primarily on domestic cheeses because both the five best-selling cheeses and a recent survey by Cheese of the World magazine seem to indicate a preference for domestic cheeses. However, after further consideration, the decision turns out to be without long-term vision and convincing logical reasoning.

The first reason of the president's decision is that the five best-selling cheeses at the newest store were all domestic cheddar cheeses from Wisconsin. However, the sum of the kinds of cheeses the chain store sells is not provided. If the number is more than one hundred, and except the top five the rest is all imported cheeses, it will be stupid to discontinue of the stock of the imported cheeses. In addition, the concrete statistics of the rank is also needed, the exact number may approximate to each other, which makes the top five not that outstanding and certainly unpersuasive for showing the increasing popularity of domestic cheeses.

Moreover, the president evidently neglects the limitation of district. The five best-selling cheeses are at the newest store, and we all know that sales is closely connected with the customers around. It is possible that the location of the newest store is particular and the customers do not have enough money to know about the kind of cheeses it sell especially the imported ones. It is ridiculous to make decisions for the whole chain company based on a survey conducted in a newest established store.

Finally, it is the weak computation ability the president possesses. Firstly, whether the stock of one kind of cheese should be discontinued or increased hinges on the profit it makes rather than just the sales. Even though the sales of imported cheeses may fall behind, the profit per cheese makes may far outweighs the domestic ones, and consequently in sum the imported cheeses are more profitable on the contrary. Secondly, reducing expenses by limiting stocking, which play a critical role on the sales and profit, do not seem to be wise choice.

On balance, it is sloppy for the president change a traditional rule lasting for many years based on statistics from the newest and a survey limited in subscribers of Cheeses of the World. Also, no long-term vision and wisdom can be seen in the distinct change since there is no breakthrough in the market and policy recently. In order to propose an available strategy, much further research and computation are required.

文章整体不错 就是注意在结尾的时候 对文章总结时,文章中没有提到的错误 不要在结尾罗列 例如杂志的问题
