题目：Do you think that young people in today are less dependent on their parents than in the past
Whether young people now-a-days are less dependent on their parents? To me the answer seems "Yes". Children and teenagers in today's society have attained greater spiritual and physical independence of their parents because new technologies and the ensuring new altitude towards life have changed everyone's living world, including the young.

First, today's young people are spiritually much different from before. The new technologies,for example camera, mobile phone and internet , have obviously changed the way how today's young people live. Connection between friends become closer and more frequently because social network such as Twitter and facebook can broadcast what you are doing to all of the friends you want to tell,including those tens of thousands miles aways from you. And it's also easy to join in a discussion of a group of your friends over certain topic as long as you are interested in it. Furthermore, wherever the position is , this connection is always available because the way to access varies from computer to mobile phone and so on. Thus, perhaps compared with parents, the portion of friends in young people's life become larger because it is more likely for them to find shared interests among friends, especially by the help of internet,because parents are less likely to be "in friendship with" them in the social network and etc. . And when they are caught in difficulties , perhaps the person who they would tend to is their friend instead of their parents. This phenomenon is common in today's young generation,from my experience, in university students ,which apparently weakened their dependence on their parents.

Secondly, it is the almost the same that the new generation of today is different from before in their physical independence of parents. The reason is similar as well, that new technologies have done the greatest contribution to the change. In my opinion, the eyesight of today's young people is wider than the older generation thanks to the development of information. Take my case for example. Compared to my parents, I have seen more information about the world through movie stories, documentaries and books. Even though my parents read books about the amazing world too, but in general, I am more keen to explore the world out of my daily life ,and as a consequence, away from my parents,because I got to know much about where remains unknown to the older in visual and spiritual ways, . Among my classmates, there are a great many who think it better to work or even study in a city a little far away from home. And there are many who think it more interesting to travel or do some work rather than to stay at home with parents. It definitely does not mean that parents are not important to them, but an indication that,as they become more independent, they are eager to go out to see the world and do something.

In sum, the young generation of today are less dependent on their parents because the new technologies now-a-days have generated them a different altitude towards life.
