12月2日 101218NA Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Two persons cannot be friends if one is richer than the other.
For many people they prefer to believe that friendship can cross any limit. They have the faith that the relationship of friend in two people can be built and kept “for poorer or richer”. However, I hold the opposite view to these idealists.
It is often for the poor to spend a lot of time considering subsistence problem instead of complicated problems, such as philosophy and aesthetics. When a poor man meet a rich guy, they would not have common topic to communicate with each other. In that situation, I can not image how to build friendship with them according to my experience that friends always share their ideal on a same thing. Even though the poor one was as prosperous as the rich, taking the alteration of living condition in account, these two people can have common concerns no longer. The friendship would disappear someday.
The rich in reality are not likely to be friends with the poor. There are certain consideration that they are afraid of the motive of poor people to be friends with them. The rich avoid the poor all the time in that poverty is a kind of humiliation for them. Besides, they have the worry that the poor are trend to be sensitive result in respecting the poor too extensive. Rich people have not moderate attitude to treat the poor. In the light of these factors, the rich unable to be friends with the poor.
In conclusion, I would like to say that economic condition have the subjective and relative influence in friendship. It is totally different from other type of relationship such as marriage which is bound to law and morality. Lacking of constraint in friendship, people can build and abandon their friends easily. (317)

The lecture hold a different opinion from the passage concerning that the protrait was not described young Jane Austen.
The speaker give three considerations as follow.
Firstly, the portrait which be considered a sketch of young Austen was showed in 1882. At that time, Jane Austen has been dead for 7 years. Some family of her may not see herself. Even though the passage told us that family of Austen claim that the portrait was described her.
Secondly, Austen is a huge family result in many female living in. The sketch had no sign and date on it, which cannot be decide the amateur sketch is Jane Austen. It might be described other female in the family. Even the painter remembered Austen clearly, it is unable to give the proof that the young girl in the painting is Jane Austen take the family look like each other in account.
Last factor for the passage insist the view is the style of the portrait is belong to the time of young Austen. However, the portrait was bought in the market first time, Jane Austen was 27 years old which hardly defined as a young girl. The lecturer remark us that the popular style may not be used in a specific time
According to these reason, the lecture strongly disagree with the passage.

12月3日 110402NA Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? When you choose a university，是prefer毕业生就业好的，还是有famous professor的
There is a complicated question for many university applicators whether learning from a famous professor or choosing a major with high employment rate. As for me, I have reasonable considerations to choose famous professor instead of a high-employment major.
The first factor I prefer the celebrate professor is learning standard knowledge from these professors. The famous professor is likely to get more chance to know the newest developments in a field. These professors are always invited to join the international specialty meetings to obtain the latest information. If I was one of this sort of professor’s student, I would be learnt these knowledge from the professor. Besides, famous professor have rich experience. I am able to “trample the shoulder in giant”. Learning from the famous professor is trend to get both latest development and abundant experience, which is helpful for students to get a good job.
In addition, a good professor means an excellent style work all the time. Taking myself for example, I was used to choose a high-employment major. When I began to learn the major, I recognized that the style work of the major was not suit for me. I preferred to have a regular life, but most students in the major were demanded to work depends on passion which might lead to turn night into day. I changed my major into another which is famous from the professor after I could not stand the irregular style of work. I figured out my rate of learning and working had been significantly increased. With the help of my professor, I realized the importance of patience gradually. When I tried to apply for jobs, I was always praised by patient work style.
Last but least, a famous professor’s student would have a sound academic background which is very useful for applying a job. With the guide of a famous professor, the student might publish outstanding paper on academic journals and get splendid experiment results which are lead the student to take a step to a successful career.
In a nutshell, taking rich experience, good work style and a powerful background an account, I would like to choose a famous professor in university

The lecturer has the totally opposite view to the author concerning the owner of fossils collection. It is reasonable for the speaker to hold the option that the private collector has no influence on fossils.
Fisrtly, the lecturer points a significant number of fossil are collected by the public school and library. Although some fossils have been bought from museums as the passage told, people still have many chances to see fossils.
Secondly, the lecturer asserts that the scientists have accessed to the fossils before they are sold. It is very different from the passage which considers the scientists cannot observe and study important fossils. The speaker thinks that the private buyer has to understand the value of fossils from the research of scientists.
Last but least, the lecturer approves that many fossils cannot be found out without the economical support of private collector. Although the private collector may destroy the evidence of fossils as the passage point out, it is better for study to discover fossils rather than keeping them unearth.
According to the lecture, the speaker is strongly disagree with the author of passage.

12月6日100828NA Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The main purpose for people who have jobs is for money rather than social status.
For the idealists who ignore the law of jungle in the real world, they always focus on the meaningless self-respect when they do their jobs. As for me, I hold the totally opposite view to them that money is extremely more important than the social status in jobs concerning the following factors.
With the increasing compliment in the modern society, an increasing number of people are threatened by the subsistence problem. It is the firstly obvious reason I regard money as important instead of the social status. In my country, the constantly rise of employment pressure results from the incontrollable growth of population. In this situation, for ordinary people who are the majority of work, they have to regard money as the main purpose in jobs. They are not likely to take care about the social status if they face the problem of food and clothing.
In addition, the social status would be brought by money which cannot take money with all the time. Taking the pop star in account, they are produced by Hollywood in one way and make abundant money in their jobs, the overwhelming number of people admire their luxury life style. These stars show up the upper party and are famous all around the world. This sort of high social status for them is brought from the money them make. On the other hand, some scholars are respected by people due to the extraordinary scholar’s success in one field. However, they still as bare as their hands. Especially for some scholars who study in social science, their knowledge cannot be gotten attention owing to the trend of metaphysics which is useless in reality. Under this circumstance, the purpose for employees is for money mainly which would take social status with.
Last but not the least consideration for me to value money in jobs is the importance of economic in the world. With the changes of world pattern after World War Two, more and more countries realized that economic was playing a significant role. The government frequently encourages people to focus on the development of economic which lead to the perception of occupation has been partial to money rather than the social status.
In conclusion, both the pressure of living and the influence by society and policy, mainly people think money a lot instead of the social status.

The speaker hold the totally opposite view concerning the measures of decline the number of the cane toad in Australia to the passage. She thinks these measures are unsuccessful.
Firstly, the national fence might prevent the adult cane toad as the author said in passage, however the speaker asserts that the fence cannot prevent the young cane toad because of the small size. Besides, the egg of cane toad are likely to go strength into Australia by water way.
Secondly, although the volunteer can help the government to stop the spread of cane toad by destroyed in the passage, the speaker points out that this kind of action may be dangerous in one way. The speaker considers that some people are afraid of cane toad in the same time, especially for young people.
Thirdly, the speaker holds the different opinion from the passage that developing the virus which can control the population of cane toad. In her view, even though the sort of virus is used in region, it can be transported to other place like South America where the cane toad is a native species. This kind of virus would cause a disaster in other regions.
