"High-progile awards such as the Nobel Prize are actually damaging to society because they suggest that only a few people deserve such recognition."

There are only a few specialists who could be honored as the winner of Nobel Prize in their own areas. Therefore, the arguer claims that such high-profile awards are actually "damaging to society"; however, as far as I am concerned, the establishment of such awards and proceeding yearly will bring society nothing harmful but the harmony and prosperity of the development of science.

The establish of such high-profile awards at first was actually with the purpose to praise individuals who commits themselves to their study and research. Take Nobel Prize for example. Out of his kindness and regret that his "marvelous" discovery of bomb brought to society both convenience and tragedies, the famous chemist Nobel left his treasure behind to found a agency to support and praise the people who promote the history of science. In fact, the prize to certain extent is a wonderful wish of some people intending to leave to the world in the future something to memorize. From this point of view, the acquirement of the prize does not mean recognition only to the minority; while the loss of the prize can never be regarded as an ignorance and criticism of society.

After analysis of the origins and meaning of such high-profile prizes, it is not difficult to draw the conclusion that prizes are never undermining society. Oppositely, it stimulates the development of science, the diversity of the theories, especially those conflicts with the old ones, and the most important, the attraction of public attention towards scientists who may be ignored for reasons. Madam Curies and her research on radium can be taken as instance to support such aspect. Her identity as a woman scientist at that time brought her troubles to carry on her research with radium, even social criticism for her deviation from traditional ethics. Yet with the honor of Nobel Prize, she was immediately supported both in finance and in equipment by French government who had refused her request to use national laboratory and to work in university as a teacher. Prizes, at certain time, saved a genius scientist as well as preserved a person with ability for society.

Admittedly, the prizes are sometimes unfair or even wrong. Society may not accept the theory or idea of an individual at certain time, therefore they may "kill" the rights of a scientist to receive his deserved honor. The famous Relativity Theory of Einstein received nothing from the Sweden Government (which is the executor of the Nobel Prize); yet the creator of TTT (which is now among the most troublesome matters polluting the earth and endangering the health of human beings) was honored the 1965 Nobel Prize. However, as a famous Physician has mentioned(and I paraphrase):"The happiness with Nobel is no more than that from a new discovery in my laboratory.", the winners of such prizes do not care at all whether they will receive the prizes and the "loser" of them still devote themselves to their beloved research for the society.

The establishment of a prize is out of an individual's or a group's wish. Yet for the scientists and other potential winners, the honor of such a kind of prize is like a milestone in their research or study road. However with them or not, they will still carry on their way since their purpose is to make this world better, not to win an instant prize.

"High-progile awards such as the Nobel Prize are actually damaging to society because they suggest that only a few people deserve such recognition."

There are only a few specialists who could be honored as the winner of Nobel Prize in their own areas. Therefore, the arguer claims that such high-profile awards are actually "damaging to society"; however, as far as I am concerned, the establishment of such awards and proceeding yearly(2词反了) will bring society nothing(?是不 是这样用啊) harmful but the harmony and prosperity of the development of science.

The establish(MENT) of such high-profile awards at first(不顺) was actually with the purpose to praise individuals who commits( NO S)  themselves to their study and research. Take Nobel Prize(?人把??) for example.

After analysis of the origins and meaning of such high-profile prizes, it is not difficult to draw the conclusion that prizes are never undermining(NEVER UNDERMINES THE) society. Oppositely( 没这样的用法把?), it stimulates the development of science, the diversity of the theories, especially those conflicts with the old ones, and the most important( LY), the attraction of public attention towards scientists who may be ignored for reasons. Prizes, at ( A )certain time, saved( SAVE) a genius scientist as well as preserved (PRESERVE)a person with ability for society.

Admittedly, the(NO THE)  prizes are sometimes unfair or even wrong. Society may not accept the theory or idea of an individual at (A )certain time, therefore they may( 就用BUT 就行了) "kill" the rights of a scientist to receive his deserved honor. The famous Relativity Theory of Einstein received nothing from the Sweden Government (which is the executor of the Nobel Prize); yet the creator of TTT (which is now among the most troublesome matters polluting the earth and endangering the health of human beings) was honored the 1965 Nobel Prize. However, as a famous Physician has mentioned(and I paraphrase):"The happiness with Nobel is no more than that from a new discovery in my laboratory.", the winners of such prizes do not care at all whether they will receive the prizes( OR NOT) and the "loser(复数把?)" of them still devote themselves to their beloved research for the society.

The establishment of a prize is out of an individual's or a group's wish. Yet for the scientists and other potential winners, the honor of such a kind of prize is like a milestone in their research or study road. However(???WHETHER把?) with them or not, they will still carry on their way since their purpose is to make this world better, not to win an instant prize.

(问个问题,prosperity of development这种说法你肯定吗?)

The establish of such high-profile awards at first was actually with the purpose to praise individuals who commits themselves to their study and research. Take Nobel Prize for example. Out of his kindness and regret that his "marvelous" discovery of bomb(好像是三硝基甲苯一类的东西,用bomb不合适吧。) brought to society both convenience and tragedies, the famous chemist Nobel left his treasure behind to found a agency to support and praise the people who promote the history of science. In fact, the prize to certain extent is a wonderful wish of some people intending to leave to the world in the future something to memorize. From this point of view, the acquirement of the prize does not mean recognition only to the minority; while the loss of the prize can never be regarded as an ignorance and criticism of society. (最后一句话没看懂,呵呵,能否讲解一下)

(这个例子举的真好,呵呵,收录之!)

However, as a famous Physician has mentioned(and I paraphrase):"The happiness with Nobel is no more than that from a new discovery in my laboratory.", the winners of such prizes do not care at all whether they will receive the prizes and the "loser" of them (加个will好一些)still devote themselves to their beloved research for the society.

The establishment of a prize is out of an individual's or a group's wish. Yet for the scientists and other potential winners, the honor of such a kind of prize is like a milestone in their research or study road. However (whether?)with them or not, they will still carry on their way since their purpose is to make this world better, not to win an instant prize.
