The speaker asserts that technology creates more problems than it solves and many threaten or damage the quality of life . Personally, I can not deny the fact that the development of technology have caused many negative effects, while ,the technology has also bring us lots of benefits that is very important to us ever since we began to use it .

In the first place ,the development of technology has improved the efficiency as well as the quality of our life .Since human began to use simple tools such as sticks and stones ,technology ,a sign and milestone of the evolution of human being ,has been making lots of benefits to us .Transportation ,which is very important in the development of market and business has been improved a lot due to the development of technology. In the 17th century , as the way of transportation which is mainly powered by stocks , it took Marc polo , a European who is very interested in china , 17 years to travel around in eastern Asia . Nowadays , the new ways of transportation such as railroad , airplane and automobile is so efficient that such a trip is unthinkable. Beside that ,through the years ,the way human use to communicate have also been changing in striking speed .In the earlier time ,the most important means of communicating is mail . The problems of it is the mail might take a long time to arrive ,and the safety of it can not be assured .while ,the high efficiency ,safety and even face to face communication provided by the newly developed ways of communication such as internet ,telephone ,fax machine can easily solve these problems .What is more , with the help of automation , human can be liberated from exhausting work . The Industrial Revolution , which is started with the introduction of steam machine ,started a very important period in human history .Ever since the Industrial Revolution ,more and more work requiring human labor which means energy consuming and inefficiency , can be finished by automatic machines .In fact ,technology have influenced all aspects of the world ,by providing it with new ways ,new ideas ,new tools .As a consequence ,technology is beneficial to humanity .

In the second place ,undoubtedly ,technology have positive effects ,while its negative effects can't be ignored as well. As it mentioned above ,the new ways of transportation are thought to be convenient and efficient ,nevertheless they may also cause problems that are hard to be solved . Most of the major cities in the world ,although having developed traffic system such as expansive roads , intelligent traffic-controlling system ,have to face a common problem—traffic jam ,which is caused if the density of automobile extended the limits .For most people who live or work in the city ,traffic jam which means riding a bike or walking is much faster than driving a car or taking a bus ,is a terrible thing ,for it not only waste time ,energy but also cause problems such as unable to be on time ,miss chances which is very important to do business .In addition to that ,the automation ,on the one hand , enrich the material world which is the foundation of many upper buildings in the society ,on the other hand ,it is also a problem maker. A survey conducted by a health organization indicates that the eyesight of modern people is declining and the body weight is increasing. The helping hands of automation have made people lazier and even generate many harmful effects to the health of humanity.

To sum up, despite of the harms caused by technology, we can't deny the important role technology plays in our daily life and the potential benefits it bring us. Consequently, if we can deal with the problems correctly, it is sure that technology can be a very valuable and beneficial tool for humanity.
