In this contemporary society, the issue whether the study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives becomes more and more controversial. Since different world views lead to different conclusions, some maintain that only the study of history which is relevant to our daily lives is valuable, while some hold that all the study of history will benefit human. In my opinion, I will agree with the latter because what we can learn from the history is more than daily lives.
To begin with, it is true that the study of history which is relevant to our daily lives is important. The technologies we master and the knowledge we grip are all based on the fruits from the history, such as the electricity which is one of the discoveries of Faraday and the first plane made by Wright Brothers. It is difficult to image what would this world be like without electricity. Again, how inconvenient it would be if Wright Brothers had not invented plane. Without the master pieces of our historical inventers, how could people live in such a highly developed society? Therefore, the study of history that is indeed relevant to our daily lives is very important.
However, the study of history which is not relevant to our daily lives is also important. Although it is hard for people to recognize the value of the study of this history, this does not mean that we can overlook its importance. Studying the history irrelevant to our daily lives will give us an insightful thinking. For example, Confucius is one of the outstanding scholars in Chinese history. The theory he maintains is great treasure to human spirit. The thinking he advocates can still shed a light on this contemporary society, such as the educational theory that human are born to be kind hearted person hence even the villain can still have the chance of being a good person.
Furthermore, the study of history irrelevant to our daily lives will benefit to our success. It is known to all that loss is the mother of success. Without the fallacious experiences of historical people, today's people are more likely to make the same mistake. It is the lessons that we learn from the historical people that make our society more prosperous. Basing on the mistakes that they made, we now can improve the method in order to avoid encountering the same problem. Only with successive improvement could the civilization advance on. Try to image, without the original mode of early movie, how can we enjoy so much?
In summary, the influence of studying history, requiring objective analysis, can not be well addressed in several hundreds of words. Consequently, what I can be sure is that the reasons mentioned above are enough to explicate my view that all the study of history will benefit human.
