The author asserts that the governments of countries should act toprevent those lesser-known languages from becoming extinct. In myopinion, each language is he vehicle for a unique way of thinking, aunique literature and a unique view of the world, thus, I am totallyagree with the author.
Admittedly, some kinds of languages are being used less than everbefore, for some of them, people even don't ever hear about them. Asthe origin of creating a language is to help with people'scommunication with each other, those lesser-known languages havealready lost their true value. However, is it really unnecessary for usto give them away? I think the answer may(要照应开头比较绝对的口气的话,最好不要用may,直接就是answer is no就可以了) be "no." Though to help keepsuch kinds of languages requires much financial and other kinds ofsupport, it's the fact that those languages may have some other kindsof value beyond themselves, which will be discussed below.
小开头。下面开始讨论,不错
As for a certain language, in a linguist's view, it represents avehicle(语法错误) for a unique way of thinking, a unique literature as well as aunique view of the world. Through a certain kind of language, we canlearn a nation's history, a attitude people keep towards life and aview people see the world. For instance, in ancient times, people usetheir own language to write down what happened every day in order tolet the generations know about their ancestor.(这个例子不是很好,没有把uniqueness表现出来) And people also showtheir attitude towards life through language, for example, Americanpeople like to keep a casual style towards life, thus, they create someEnglish words like "brunch" and "sofa potatoes". (这个例子也比较的勉强,很多语言都有这种casual的词的。)In this way, peoplecan know about a group of people through the language they speak, otherwise, we may never know some groups of people who speak alesser-known language which is going to be extinct.
Further more, language is a complex products of human mind. Nowadaysmore and more people are becoming bilingualism since learning a secondforeign language helps with our mental development. For example inDenmark as well as Canada, there's a polylingualism, which encouragespeople to master at least two different kinds of languages. In Canada, most people know a little about French, which helps them a lot incommunicating with people living in French-spoken areas and in China, the government is encouraging people to learn some other kinds oflesser-known Chinese languages by adding some points to the students'overall mark when entering the universities. In addition, when peoplelearn to speak a lesser known language, on one hand, they've practisedtheir language skills and develop another special kind of interest, andon the other hand, they may have a chance to become a translator ofthis lesser-known language. (and then.....可以促进文化的交流之类的....这里最好接下去讨论一下,这个算是不错的观点)
这一段的论点之后还有要论述,要具体论述一下为什么要保存这一些lesser known languages,例子并不能代替论述。
All in all, from what has been discussed above, we can easily draw ourconclusion that the governments of countries really need to make someefforts in preventing some lesser-known languages from becomingextinct. Meanwhile, everybody should act from oneself to be aware ofthe importance of lesser-known languages.
总体的结构还不错。
