感觉不好很没思想

In the pragmatic and high-speed developed society of today, people’s views are actually occupied by utilitarian points so that it is difficult for the study of history to escape the fate of being evaluated according to its obvious effect related directly to people’s day-to-day lives. However, the study of history has impacts on other respects beyond the daily lives, yet we human beings, rather than live just to survive, should plan more for the futures for not only ourselves but also our offspring and the environment.

The value of the study of the history which is relevant to our daily lives lies in various respects among our ordinary daily activities. As Bacon once said, “History makes men wise.” In retrospect of the history long river, the great philosopher Socrates, laid the foundation of logic; the representative figure of impressionism --- Monet, provides us lots of wonderful images, water lilies, sun-roses, nympheas, for instance; Petofi’s verse--- For my love I will sacrifice life, for liberty I will sacrifice my love --- told us the pursuit of freedom cannot be blocked by anything; the experiences of great scientists such as Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Steve Hawking, interpret the definition of persistence. Thus, the study of history somehow play a significant role in influencing our daily lives.

However, the study of history is to review the winding progress of human beings and has led us to where we are today and actually the study of history provides value far beyond its impact on the daily lives. For example, the study of medical advances made throughout history can be the foundation to build upon to make the medical advances to make people live longer and healthier lives. It is undeniable that the value of the study of history is of great important but may not be seen temporally or at present. The study of environment warns us by teach us lessons to show that what can happen if proper precautions are not taken. The study of the disintegration of the ozone layer over the poles of the earth has given birth to new laws on certain chemicals that help to preserve this valuable part. It seems that the ozone layer isn’t relevant to our daily lives but unfortunately, if the ozone layer perishes from the earth one day, we will be unable to live because of exposing of the ultraviolet radio. Moreover, without the knowledge of the Purtan spirit in May Flower, the war of independence, the civil war, one can hardly perceive the American dream, the spirit of freedom, equality. All of the evidence above prove that the study of history provide value far beyond its impact on the daily lives of people.

In summary, history is a treasury we inherit from the ancestor. Nevertheless, staring only on the immediate merits relevant to our daily lives is too utilitarian. For countless other individuals, the study of history leads to improvements in activities beyond the daily lives. The value of the study of history is judged by what we have learnt from it and how it influence our lives and society, not by distinguishing whether it is relevant to our daily life.

Studing history only referring to the daily life is just to limit the value and significant of history. All things have their history, no matter directly or indirecly. Admittedly the directional or indirectional history has the same relevant to the the daily lives,they are the foundament for humans to know about the outside unknown feild.Hence, the definetion of relevantce seems too spicious to persuad people.
Although not all historical events are relative to our daily lives, many examples can justify that the pathway seemingly history do play important role in our lives. First of all, learning history can inspire peopel by courage and tenarity of historical character's events.For example, a studnet who is not interested in sciece subjects and ranks last in his class may encouraged by the cruise experience and great achievments of famous scientists , then he decied to pursue a career in physics, mathematics, or astronomy as a result. This decision can deeply affect that student's daily life even the trend of road in his lifetime. Or maybe that student don't want to be a scientist at all, however, he by studying historical examples of courage, when he is facing of adversity these examples can provide him motivation to comeover difficulties in his own life.
Also, mistakes of the past are a mirror to us, it can teach us as a society how to avoid reating those mistakes. For example, the nuclear accidents at Three Mile Island and Chernobyl have been studyed to ensure that they do not happen again. The study of oil spilles and their effects on the environment gives similar guidence onhow to avoid or at least minimize the damage of oil spilles on natural environment.It is oberious to see that the study of history provide value far beyond its impact on the daily lives on a natural protection level.
Finally, despite avoiding us to make the former mistakes, the study of history can help us understand our society and live better as well. For example, we can take lessons from our parents then find the better way to educate and bridge to the next generation, and in the same way to understand and take care of our parents.Studing human history can in the same way help us understand and appreciate themores, values, and ideals of past culture.A herghtened culture ,in turn, helps us formulate informed and reflective values and ideals for ourselves.
To sum up, although history has more or less relevant to our daily lives, its internal value does not lie in that. In addition, it is reasonably necessary for us to creat history while we are studying of it. Finally, emphasizing too much on the pratical factor of history will , to the contrary, result to the lost of objective one.

Thousands of years ago，one of the greatest Chinese emperors--- Taizong of Tang ---left this apothegm, “ You may trim your apparel if you take brass as mirror; you may know rise and decline if you take ancientry as mirror; you will understand the gain and loss if you take people as mirror.” This momentous aphorism came as an illuminating torch to his offspring of generations and brought about a brilliant golden age of Chinese history --- Reign of Zhen Guan. Similarly, an ancient Roman philosopher Cicero also proclaimed, “History is the witness that testifies to the passing of time. It illuminates reality, vitalizes memory, provides guidance in daily life, and brings us tidings of antiquity.” The times and situations maybe different between the East and West; yet the thoughts on the value of history study has a surprising resemblance which reveals that the core and enduring merit of history learning and research is to inform the present, but more important, to guide people how to construct the society.

Primarily, history encompasses wisdom and experience of millions of human beings. Reading history is a process of learning experience from our ancestors and enlightening the present generation with intellectual, moral, or spiritual improvement. For individuals of the present, to study history would help realize the humanity, discover the meaning of life, find and fulfill the purpose of life--- just as Francis Bacon said, “Histories make men wise.” When people are embittered by repeated failures, the story of Helen Keller and Beethoven will tell them how to face the adversity; when people are frustrated by complicated social relationships, the story of Jack Welch or Bill Gates will offer some inspiration; or when people are confused about direction of life, the story of the former successful person in the career field will lead them out of the wander. From this angle, history study may have great value when related to people’s day-to-day life.

However, the merit of history study is also reflected in promoting the human society. The study on history would help the leaders or elites in politics or business to avoid duplicating the same errors which have ever made in history and accordingly to promote the development of the whole society. Take Chinese revolutions as an example. There were thousands of uprisings in the history under the banner of fighting against oppression and exploitation, but the results of these revolutions have always been merely one dynasty replaced another which did little to lessen the oppression to the ordinary people. With clearly recognition of this evolution problem, some insight people proposed a new revolutionary objective in the early twentieth century that construct a real democracy state. The fact today has proved this measure indeed transformed ancient Chinese political system and bring about a prosperous society. Moreover, from the perspective of the world, the historical events such as the two world wars, the cold war and holocaust also sound the alarm to the later generations. Thus, we need to draw lessons from the past and spare no effort to avoid such tragedies to make the future more beautiful and hopeful.

To sum up, history is a cyclic poem written by time upon the memories of man. People could learn from the history to improve themselves in daily life; but the most important, we ought to learn how to construct a better future of our society, which is the vital value in history study.
