TOPIC: ISSUE13 - "Many of the world's lesser-known languages are being lost as fewer and fewer people speak them. The governments of countries in which these languages are spoken should act to prevent such languages from becoming extinct."
The speaker asserts the lesser-known languages have being lost because of fewer and fewer people speak them. The phenomenon is a only apparent reason to reflect the existing problem. Some substantial factors take great part in the extinction of such languages. In related to the government's role playing in the behavior to prevent such lesser-known languages from being extinct, I give my support without hesitation.
Scrutinizing on the extinction of the lesser-known languages, there is not only the peripheral cause that the author provides to produce the extant status. Some other substantial reasons existing have influenced on the development of such languages. Firstly, the function of such languages during people's communication and expression has being faded with the progress of society. Next, the emergence and popularity of internet accelerates the extinction of lesser-known languages. For the computer and internet are nearly indispensable for common people in daily life, but the language computer and internet utilized is the mainstream languages, such as English, Chinese, French. Therefore, a lot of people inherited such lesser-known languages gradually decrease their attention on it, furthermore, abnegate it. Another, the prosperity of trade between countries also has its own effect to prompt the extinction of such languages. Last but not least, some military attack, colonization, and forced power speed up the disappearance of these lesser-known languages. To some extent, all these factors stated above has being urged such languages being lost.
Escaping from the destination of extinction, lesser-known languages should be protected and promoted by the government in which such languages surviving. Because such languages have their great important parts in process of the progress of countries they existing and advance of society. In the first instance, the world is replete with diversity and unique. Thus, our world can show its infinitely charming attraction and extraordinary content. During the scope of languages, a variety of languages can make us feel the plentiful cultural characteristics. When one language left, it is just like the god only makes monosexual people. In the second place, the languages are the facility of people who communicate, articulation, heritage in their daily life. The creativity of languages reduces cost time of communication, and proved to be effective and valuable for it. Also, people can't go to great lengths to pose gestures make their mates understand them. It is essential for people to hand down and inherit their unique and perish cultures. Such cultures are significant for the progress of entire society and development of the whole world. They will never be irrevocable once having being lost. Many countries have already been conscious about the great part of such languages. Then most of the governments all over the world swiftly act to protect and apply to the United Nation as intangible culture heritage. According to the data provide by the relative authority, the languages have being declined sharply. It is estimated that average one language disappeared from the earth. The government should take active measures to keep the trend from sustaining before the majority of languages extinct. However, the energy and fund of government is limited, therefore, some other private organizations and communities also should be encouraged to contribute to the protection of endangered languages.
In final analysis, the extinction or being extinct of lesser-known languages is brought about by a lot of factors. Only carefully analyze the real reasons, can at last keep the current lesser-known languages from being lost. And for the important role of such languages take in the process of advance of society, the government should try their best to preserve and maintain such languages. |
