Why I want to pursue my PhD

I majored in （专业）when I studied for my Master’s Degree. After graduation, I have been working in （工作领域）for three years. During these years of studying and working in this area, I find that I love research and this area very much. Although I have worked hard and published several papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals as the first-author, I am still a（职位）. In order to get a higher position in the future, it is necessary for me to get a Doctor’s Degree.

Why I choose University of XX

I have been accepted as a PhD student in Professor XX’s Group in University of XX. There are three main reasons why I am keen to pursue my PhD in his lab. My overall educational goal

I plan to work in XX after graduation

As well as that, I make many friends here, including a few Principal Investigators in XX. Secondly, pursuing my PhD in Canada will enhance my competency and it also gives me a better competitive edge over the rest of my peers, so I am confident that I will be able to find a good research position here after graduation.
