Graduate Research Assistant, Biofuel Process Engineering
Be part of a team that includes scientists from industry and from the Department of Energy (Oak Ridge National Labs) investigating the conversion of agricultural materials (e.g., switchgrass) into valuable energy source.
Responsibilities:
Process engineering on thermochemical conversion of agricultural wastes into bio-oil.
Catalytic upgrading of bio-oil to increase fuel quality and stability.
Requirements:
Background in Biosystems/Agricultural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, or related fields. Course work in reaction engineering and catalysis is a plus.
