I strongly disagree the point as has been mentioned above. Such point obviously focuses on science development just in front of the eyes but without foresight.
"No practical use" means uselessness in the following few days, not necessarily implying futility forever. A good example is The Relativity Theory. At the time, practical use had nothing to do with relationship between velocity and mass- a notable conclusion in the theory, but as time moved on, The Relativity Theory contributed to creation and development of computer technology, due to explaining the movement models of atoms and electronics. In fact, being useless at the first glance, lots of research will be picked up again to drive the technology.
Besides, researches of no practical use will produce abnormal and interesting conclusion more or less. Such fascinating thing as The Big Bang Theory, The Relativity Theory and The Worm Theory--the outcome of which are collapse or extension of universe, the possibility of time travelling and intergalactic displacement in a second--will motivate the masses' imagination. Also, a great deal of science fictions related have sprung up, and even adapted for film, which has already boosted economic development. Furthermore, such fascinating conclusion will definitely evoke the imagination of the masses, and will benefit education--undeniably, a vital goal of education is upgrading the ability of imagination.
Even though such scientific research is indeed of no practical use, it's too early to verify that it is nothing. At the very least, it helps to the research at a after date, because success always steps on plenty of failure. In addition, the outcome of the impractical research affords a possible explanation for why the world is what it is.
In a word, of practical use or not should not be the only criteria of if government should support the scientific research. Benefits in the future and in the corner are also necessary to be taken into consideration.

Such fascinating thing as The Big Bang Theory(也是我一直在追的美剧啊~~), The Relativity Theory and The Worm Theory--the outcome of which are collapse or extension of universe, the possibility of time travelling and intergalactic displacement in a second--will motivate the masses' imagination(理论知识很强,嗯!). Also, a great deal of science fictions related have sprung up, and even adapted for film, which has already boosted economic development. Furthermore, such fascinating conclusion will definitely evoke the imagination of the masses, and will benefit education--undeniably, a vital goal of education is upgrading the ability of imagination.(与教育联系解释稍显牵强)

这个例子好啊  又讲的很清楚  有说服力

At the very least, it helps to the research at a after date, because success always steps on plenty of failure. In addition, the outcome of the impractical research affords a possible explanation for why the world is what it is.这段有点confusing 加点例子论证吧

In a word, of practical use or not should not be the only criteria of if government should support the scientific research. Benefits in the future and in the corner are also necessary to be taken into consideration.

总的来说还是写的很好的 例子很有说服力  我写这篇的时候想例子都快纠结死了
