2020.5.5 卑诗省疫情简报

新增8例

B.C. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced Tuesday only eight new cases of COVID-19 had been detected in the last 24 hours in B.C., although she said four more people had died of the disease.

There was more good news in Tuesday's daily briefing: after 60 days, B.C.'s first COVID-19 outbreak at a long-term care home is officially over.

Henry declared an end to the outbreak at the Lynn Valley Centre in North Vancouver that was first announced March 6.

In that time, Vancouver Coastal Health said, 76 residents and staff tested positive for the disease and 20 residents died.

During her daily briefing, provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced 25 new confirmed cases along with two more deaths. To date, 111 people in B.C. have died from the virus.

2020.4.28 卑诗省疫情简报

周二新增55例 与之前的社区爆发相关

The number of people hospitalized in B.C. with COVID-19 has fallen once again, though provincial health officials have announced another spike in new confirmed cases.

On Tuesday, provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced 55 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, bringing the total to date to 2,053. Two more deaths have been recorded, for a total of 105, and 1,231 people have recovered from their illness.

Currently, there are 94 COVID-19 patients in hospital, down from 97 a day earlier. Thirty-seven of those patients are in intensive care.

Henry said the majority of the new cases announced Tuesday are connected to known outbreaks in the community.

There are 46 cases connected to the Superior Poultry Processors plant in Coquitlam and 34 at United Poultry in Vancouver. One hundred and twenty inmates and 12 staff members at Mission Institution have tested positive for the disease.

2020.4.27 卑诗省疫情简报

由于周日BC省不开发布会 所以周一公布的新增50例包含周日与周一两日数据 BC省已经在准备开放限制

One hundred and three people have now died of COVID-19 in B.C. after three more deaths were recorded over the last 48 hours.

In her daily briefing on Monday, provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced that 50 new cases have been confirmed over the last 48 hours, bringing the province's total to 1,998 to date. Ninety-seven patients are now in hospital, including 36 in intensive care, and 1,190 people have recovered from their illness.

Henry said B.C.'s new testing strategy, which provides for anyone with symptoms to be tested, has allowed for greater surveillance of the disease's spread, but the majority of new confirmed cases continue to be connected to known outbreaks.

She said the numbers continue to be promising for B.C., but any lifting of the restrictions on daily life and business activity will take careful planning for a "made-in-B.C." approach.

"We're getting close to that time where we can start to open up," Henry said.

But she cautioned that breaking the chains of transmission is crucial.

"We cannot allow hot spots to flare up and to affect our communities."

2020.4.25 卑诗省疫情简报

昨天新增95例。。。

Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says there are 95 new cases of COVID-19 in British Columbia, a spike that brought the total number of cases to 1,948 on Saturday.

Henry said part of the reason for the dramatic jump in cases is because of additional testing related to community outbreaks at a federal prison and a poultry processing plant.

Forty of the new cases are linked to the federally-run Mission Institution, where 106 inmates and 12 staff members have contracted the virus. An inmate at the federal prison died from COVID-19 complications earlier this month. Henry said two inmates are currently in hospital.

Henry said there are also 16 new cases at Superior Poultry, a processing plant in Coquitlam, B.C., and 11 new cases linked to workers returning home from the site of an outbreak at a work site in Kearl Lake, Alta.
