Corporations [are] broadly considered as an institution to earn money; only employ the capable person who can make them most profitable as their executives. This is, of course, unarguable, especially in the past. Now, many years have passed since the corporation was first born.[你这句的意思是说从corporation出现很多年已经过去了吗?总觉得用born有点不太合适] Life and people's perception has greatly changed. With the development of human society, though trying best to make money for his or her company is [去掉is] still appear to be most important as a responsibility of one corporate executive, how ever [however], it never be the exclusive one, for taking on social responsibilities such as enhancing humans [human] health, life and environment is becoming more and more valuable.
First, making money was [去掉was], is and will always be the primary responsibility to a corporate executive. Companies are set up to make money, and they always treat this as their goal. Money is need [needed] for production, for sales, for R&D, for salaries of workers and most importantly for investors benefit. A company without profit is not a successful company and will not last for long. Only those people who can lead their corporations to earn as much money as possible will be thought as outstanding corporate executives. Jack Welch, chief executive officer of General Electric, has [had] made great profit for his company during his period in GE and thus kept GE continuous ranking the second in the top 500 companies all over the world. He could be regarded as a good corporate executive who has best finished his responsibility owe to [这里的owe to是啥意思呢?] his company.
However, nowadays, other additional responsibilities are also needed to a corporate executive of one company, among which, social responsibility is especially important. Corporations exist in society, influencing and changing its members’ life. It must thus [thus移到it前面吧] hold the responsibility to keep its people [members] healthy and even do the best effort to benefit the society[and后面这半句有点前不着村后不着店的感觉,要不你单拎出来吧]. Companies, producing food and drink,[这个逗号和前面那个逗号好像没必要] should not [not要去掉的吧] guarantee its production good for people’s health; companies of entertainment or other services have to provide people comfortable and safe services; malls or transport companies must never forget convenient [convenience] and fast speed. All of these, as responsibilities, should never be forgotten by a chief manager of a company. On the contrary they should be always listed on the agenda. Like Johnson[我孤陋寡闻,这是谁啊?], they define their company’s mission not as trying to make money as possible, but as treating their customs, doctors, patients, parents [这里列举的好像有点问题,doctors, patients, parents不包括在customs里面吗]and other Johnson production or services users, as their first and foremost mission. And company’s mission is just what its executives should do as responsibility. Besides, protecting environment and keeping it away from pollutions already become almost every company’s responsibility, in other words, its chief executive’s responsibility. For we need to leave our descendants a sustainable development society. [你第一段说:enhancing human health, life and environment is becoming more and more valuable. 你这段说了员工的健康,中间我觉得说的是服务质量,好像与life没什么关系,最后只提了一个保护环境,没具体说。嗯,我觉得这段你可再好好组织一下]
As a corporate executive, the manager of a company should never forget his or her first and most important mission to make [as much] money as possible. However, with the development of a society, more concern with people’s health, life and environment should be taken in to [into] account as necessary social responsibility. Only [by] doing both the two aspects well, can a company keep a good image in front of public and hold its life force in a long run. |
