请各位大虾多提意见~~~有贴必回!

提纲:
态度:大负小正
1.不同信仰没有特定的外部特征;
2.日常生活中不是每件事都涉及政治信仰;
3.只看表面无法了解一个人:
(1)外部面貌未必能够体现一个人的身份与思想;
(2)当今社会不同层面的人都可以互相结交;
(3)人们常常为了保护自己披上伪装的外衣,因此难以在短时间内了解一个人。

Issue123
There has long been a debate on whether we can judge a person sheer by his or her appearance, say, the clothes of an individual, the friends of an individual, the way a person talk and what he or she eats……Although some people are adhere to the viewpoint that all these foregoing items are reflection of a person’s political belief, still, I reserve somewhat on such inclination.

In the first place, in what way do we define the thing “political belief”? Universally, there lie some characteristics as its hallmark: intangible as it exists, evolve as time elapses, not ubiquitous as it stays. In the light of this statement, it would be prohibitive for us to grasp the gist of a purely inert political belief, even without intertwining with a certain personality, let alone making hold of political belief of an individual, simply by the feeling and impression we get from his or her superficiality. For instance, in the current western world, there is a growing dislike of Islamic believers. The majority of people deem it a practical rule to link them with terrorists to such an extreme measure that it is as if every man with a beard and a dark complexion has certain correlation with potential terrorist attacks. Granted, never do they want to recall the nightmare of “9.11”, people do it out of vigilance, but the insularity on the comprehension of political belief or religion, more often than not triggered by evaluating the person on their appearance, do in actuality serves as a Paris’ judgment to precipitate a new surge of misunderstanding, conflicts, and hatred between nations.

Therefore, although time-consuming and require patience as well as keen insight, a thorough understanding of a person proves to be of much help rather than a very short time of meeting. Knowing that rarely does a political belief has the capability to insinuate almost every aspect of our daily routine, the assessment-- based on a short time of involvement of a person-- is far from being credible. Especially in our contemporary world, where those once prevailing criteria by which to evaluate an individual, fail to function as they used to be. With the boom of IT industry, CEO like Bill Gates usually in favor of casual wear; as the progress of our education, now compulsory to most young minds to prune their words and behavior in a much genteel manner, our new generation are fortunate enough to be equipped with courteousness; as the instant communication manifests itself profoundly in our lives, even a young prince can make friends with an old man in a poor and backward area. It is just as my grandfather once commented: “To judge a person only by his face, to perceive an item only by its surface, to view the world only by its apparent confusion, we are bound to loose the most precious of their innate treasure.”

Another paramount reason, though seldom do we admit, does exercise frequently to shelter the true nature of personality, whatever his political belief, his history, or even his identity, that is—modern people tend to conceal almost everything concerning to their own, as if some day in the future we would be obliged to carry a shell with us just as snails do. In terms of this, isn’t it more arduous for us to identify a person’s political belief? What is pathetic for us is that while we live in a self-protect state to guarantee all the things we cherish in dear life, our wealth, our social status, our prestige, our power, either by boasting or by disguise, the instinctive requirement of socializing, with the devotion of our trust and faith, vanishes in the encroaching material globe.

In summary, were it not for the discrepancy between the surface and truth of a person, were it not for the stereotype we cling to in our critical thinking, were it not for the over-protection of current people, chances are good that we can spare numerous time to make out one’s political belief by brief interaction with a stranger. However, gone are the days when naivety rooted firmly in fertile soil in our soul, nowadays we have to take the pain to accept that pertinent knowledge about an individual’s political belief, together with his characteristics, his avocations, his background, etc, though apprehensible, may need to be accomplished by taking the toil of a considerable time span with the aid of various information.

[Sorry, 我没办法提出什么有价值的意见,因为你的思路我看得不是很清楚。我也是刚开始练,了解不多。另外我觉得语言里面真的是有很多我可以借鉴的。]
