Should the research of society only focus on the fields which related to our daily life? Otherwise history study loses its meaning? Many experts believe so. In my opinion, a study of history relevant to people's daily life is beneficial; nevertheless, a reseaerch outside this scope is also of great importance.

Admittedly, the history research focusing on our daily life embodies its values by providing individuals with inspiration to guide our life. In retrospect, people tend to put themselves into real historical images and deem themselves as the leading roles of the old stories; by comparing themselves to those eminent humans, people gain sustainable courage to live their lives best. When they are frustrated by a series of failure on the way to goals, as long as thinking of the lively experience of Demosthenes from a speech-impeded boy to the most contagious and eloquent orator in ancient Greek, we are inspired by his perseverance and determination and begin to grasp the meaning of an old saying—“where is a will, there is a way”; if we are lonely in insisting the truth, we only need to remind ourselves of Bruno—a fighter who devoted himself to the verity. In short, the past great brains and personalities help to guide our daily life and lift our spirits.

Moreover, the awareness of the history helps us to better understand our surroundings which we have long taken for granted. Why we celebrate Labor Day? Perhaps few people knew that it was the result of a strike centuries at the cost of many justice-fighters life; knowing this, I guess most people would treasure what they have today. How humans discovered the electricity? Why we use electricity as the main energy now? Perhaps little amount of individuals realize that it was a long procedure featured by thousands of scientists and ordinary people's tough works and vigorous efforts. The thing which we regard as common sense always has its own meaning and history behind. The study of history can motivate us to treasure what we possess today and elevate our everyday chores to richer and more interesting experience.

However, while the study of history related to our daily life plays a momentous role in our daily life, other studies which are irrelevant to everyday life also serves us with significant values: they affect us indirectly by influencing our society and many other means. For instance, study the history can prevent our society from committing the same errors our predecessors did. Consider the World War II, which brings the society tremendous disasters--people suffered from hunger, unemployment and homeless, and the world withstanding financial crisis as well as political crisis, confidence crisis: the chaos caused by the war impeded the development of society and even caused economic regression. What our society learns from this is a profound but bitter lesson, including the importance of cherishing the peace of the world.

Overall, the study of history within our daily life is valuable but narrowly aimed. While people are aware of the importance of the history research relevant to our daily life, humans should also place great emphasis on the study of history outside our daily life.

2、在正文前两端，好像把Daily life等同于了courage and treasure of human。我觉得，这样是有问题的。
