面经(ntu),迟发为歉
发信人: snowtoy (stay alone all the time), 信区: AdvancedEdu
标 题: 面经(ntu),迟发为歉
发信站: BBS 水木清华站 (Tue Feb 3 20:53:47 2004), 站内
Interview Time: 4pm, 3 Feb, 2004;
Interviewer: Director of **** @ NTU
Interviewee: I
Note: I got a two-day preparation for professional interview. But he
asked no professional questions. Perhaps NTU like to ask no professional
questions. Perhaps it is because that this director knew little about
my direction.
OK, the following are some questions he asked me:
1). How do you know about NTU?
***** blah, blah,*******
2). Why do you apply to NTU?
**************************
3). Do you apply to USA universities?
(As to this question, please pay more attention to it. Secretary of
graduate school of NTU once told me by email that they could not process
my application caz I had not finished my Ms study. I am surprised to
receive this phone interview. Frankly, I told him that your secretary
once rejected me by email and I gave up. I applied to several USA
universities. The director was a little angry about the secretary and
asked me to forward the rejection email to him at once after the
interview.)
(In my opinion, if you had no such conditions, you’d better not tell
the interviewer that you applied to USA or other universities).
4). Could you give you a simple introduction of yourself?
*******************
5). Which field do you want to further your study?
**********
6). Did any of your colleagues apply to study in NTU?
&&&&&&&&
7). Do you have any relatives in Singapore?
&&&&&&&&&&&
8). You mentioned that you wanted to apply to prof. **’s group. How did
you know about him?
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
9). Did you contact him before?
**********
10). Did he contact you by phone?
&&&&&& ( In fact, Prof. *** once called me to talk about some
professional questions)
11). What is your strength and weak point?
****************
12). Ok, I have no question. Do you have any questions to ask me?
A: Yes, of course. I want to ask you some questions: First, if I wanna
further my study after I get PhD in ur univ, can I go on my postdoc
research in ur university?
13). D(irector): Yes. If depends on your PhD project. But I hope you can
continue your postdoc research in other universities, such as NUS.
A: OK, the second, how about the stipend?
14). D: If you can get scholarship from Prof. ***, it will be a big
stipend about Singapore $ 3000/ month. If not, the department can give
you a stipend of S$1400/month.
(At the beginning of the interview, the director told me that I was very
competitive, etc. Blah, blah. It seems that they are anxious to
enroll me)
A: The third, how long can I get the final decision?
15). D: About six to eight weeks for you to get the final decision.
But sometimes it is much earlier.
(He knew that I applied to USA universities may be a reason for him to
tell me the last sentence)
( But donot say that you applied to other universities if you met no
such conditions, I mean, once rejected by secretary.)
A: Is there an email decision before the official letter decision?
16). D: No. But perhaps Prof. ** will inform me the final decision early
by email.
A: Is there another telephone interview?
17). D: No, I am the final interview.
A: Then all I can do is to wait for your final decision?
18). D: Yes. Is there any question you want to ask?
A: No. That is all, no other questions.
19). D: Ok, we will give you final decision ASAP.
A: Thank you very much for your kind phone interview.
20). D: We are welcome. Please feel free to contact me if you have
some questions.
A: I will. Bye.
21). D: Bye.
PS, this is my first formal phone interview. Do not get nervous in the
interview. Try to calm yourself and try to speak in slow speed to
ready your content. If possible, preparation is welcome.
That is all.
Sincerely hope all the flyers can get their contented offers. |
