Referee Report

This paper fills in the gap regarding the soft skills one might need for a successful academic career. The direct link between these skills and application results shall be elaborated. Anecdotes are extensively used in the discussions, which are impressive at explaining the ideas but inevitably lack cohesion between the stories. Data or regression analysis is preferred for presenting stronger evidence.

As some improvements are expected, I recommend the author revise and resubmit the paper.
