vicariously
1 a : serving instead of someone or something else b : that has been delegated *vicarious authority*
2 : performed or suffered by one person as a substitute for another or to the benefit or advantage of another : SUBSTITUTIONARY *a vicarious sacrifice*
3 : experienced or realized through imaginative or sympathetic participation in the experience of another
4 : occurring in an unexpected or abnormal part of the body instead of the usual one *bleeding from the gums sometimes occurs in the absence of the normal discharge from the uterus in vicarious menstruation*

陈圣元认为这个词在句子里是“替罪羊”的意思，看样子就是webster上的第2各释义。但我个人还是比较倾向于理解为gre常考意项“取代的、代替的”

deservedly：
of, relating to, or being that which one deserves

undeservedly在webster上没有找到直接释义，从un前缀来看似乎是deservedly的反义取非，中文理解就是不应得的。陈说这个词的意思是不应该遭受表扬，不懂，有这样的意思吗？

陈说答案是C，原本的E是错误选项。核心问题在于对于这两个词的精确理解，大家有什么看法？

应该是选最后一个，pity不许在加vicarious，没这个用法。

undeserved也可以理解成没有得到应得到的东西吧

陈某的那本书上说答案是E啊？？
个人认为vicariously就是间接的意思。
个人猜测这句话是说我们会同情那些非正义的但是遭受苦难的人。

是陈圣元网络课堂里听到的，他把vicariously说得天花乱坠，又说undeservedly是修饰不应该遭受表扬，而非不公正，当时听了就感觉不对

他书上也是E？没看，ft～～～

晕倒。。。书上。。。我看见的那个形状的字母应该是广为人知的。。。E。。。

这道题我选的是C。既然前面说了，同情是公正的尊敬者，那后面说同情那些为了不值得的事而受苦的人，多么奇怪啊？！既然不值得，那就不值得同情，这就是“justice判断该人的确有错”VS“不同情”。

代人受过的人——>同情，因为他们本身没有错。justice判断没错 VS 同情。

题干关键词：justice
空格要填：injustice

undeserved

Not merited; unjustifiable or unfair.
不应得的；无理的或不公平的

这是美国传统词典解释 unfair == injustice

C并不符合完美逻辑有些发散

看到大家对题干本身理解还有问题，小小的说一下我的看法：
同情是公正的尊敬者，所以我们要同情那些不公正地受难的人

也就是说：那些人本不该受难，但由于injustice而受难。C选项只是injustice的一种情况，而不应该等同于injustice，阅读上面的概念放大缩小大家也很清楚吧。所以选E 直接表达injustice
