Practical point of view seems to be mainstream ideology of the modern society, which put effect in the first place. Maybe for this cause, the speaker asserts that people should take pragmatic views in order to success. While I agree that these views play an essential part in our lives and can lead us to our targets, I would never neglect the importance of idealistic views.

As mentioned, effect may be the first thing people concern about when they are working. Scientists should considerate the outcomes of their researches and merchants look highly of the profits their efforts bring. Effect, which is the requisite factor of success, needs people to take practical views when dealing with matters. Because of this, many persons become doers, which mean the practical thoughts are their most valuable fortune. Practical ways are dominating the contemporary society and contributing to the improvement of human beings.

However, human sometimes overlook or even ignore the effort the idealistic views make, which have been also contributing us. Ideal hypothetic is always go ahead the practices in every sphere of the world. Researchers always calculate the results in the theoretical conditions and then attain the experimental ones. Many hypothetical matters mentioned in some scientific fantastic novels in the 1800s, such as spaceships and airplanes, all appeared after the death of the writers. Without theoretical hypothetic, people may even do not know what they have found when they really discover something. Columbus, as an example, thought he had arrived India when he discovered American. In this case, the efficiency of ideal thoughts becomes the obstacle for the true success.

Moreover, we human beings always take pragmatic behaviors and make efforts to achieve an ideal goal, which might really support our psychological survival. All of us dream about more comfortable places to rest, more convenient transportations to use, more peaceful and healthy environment to live, and more friends to communicate. These minds bring us power to be practical and diligent in our positions. Business leader should have an idealistic and desirable target to attain, make their staff to admire the goal and finally enhance the competence of the enterprise. Political officers should also enact an ideal living standard for the whole citizens to achieve. The situations seem the same in other realm of the society so that idealistic views are crucial.

While practical deeds benefit short term advance of our society, the idealistic views bring us to make better lives in the long term. When we pay attention to the pragmatic ways to work, we should recognize that ideal thoughts are also requisite for our improvement.
