Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student.

I agree with the author's broad assertion that education should meet students’ needs and interests. However, the author unnecessarily broader the assertion to that education should meet each students' needs and interests and, only at that time, education would be truly effective. As I see, the needs and interests should be evaluated before education established to meet, and it is not the only way to make education truly effective despite of it is hard to come true. My points are discussed below.

First of all, we should have a clear view about what is education. Education is a teaching system which purpose is teaching students knowledge and theories, helping students to form the correct ideas of esthetic and morality. In today's society, education plays an important role among the whole world and the purpose is extended further-education should also foster students the ability to think, practice and learn. Additionally, the process of modify education system depends on both the students' needs and interests, the purpose of education, and the some other elements such as the demand of the market and the country's policy. Education is significant not only to students themselves but also to the society that should be made to meet both demands. Education's final purpose is helping students to survive better in the world.

Each student has his or her own needs and interests that some of those needs and interests are not according with the education purpose, such as the interests of playing computer games, the needs of luxury clothes and cars. The education should not be modified to teach students how to play games better and convince parents to buy more expensive things. It is clearly that education which is made to meet those kinds and demands is not a effective one let alone to be a truly effective one. Therefore, unless the needs and interests are according with the purpose of education, they should not be satisfied by education.

Moreover, if the education designed cannot meet the demands of the society, it cannot be considered as an effective one although it meets each student’s demands and interests. The final purpose of education is to help students having a better life in society by their own ability, while some of the interests and needs, which may satisfy the purpose of education, can not give a strong help to students' better life. Education's effective shows not only in the results of how much the students learned during it but also with the results students' learned, they can find a good and suitable position in the world. Therefore, to better live in society, education should meet both some of the individual needs and interests of each student and meet the markets' demands.

Finally, the speaker asserts that education should be designed to meet everyone's demands and interests; however, it is unpractical for the variety and differences in everyone's demands and favors. The effective of education should also focus on how to receive more by using fewer resources. It would be a huge project if education is designed to meet everyone's varieties that would costs so much on both money and resources which may be used to solve more urgent problems now. Education can be truly effective by doing some other measures not the speaker's assertion. Such as dividing students into several groups in which students have similar characteristics and designing education to meet every group's similar demands and interests. By this way, students can not only mostly satisfied but can also learn from each other. There are also many other ways that can make education truly effective.

To sum up, the speaker's assertion that education should be designed to meet each student’s needs and interests to become truly effective is not the case. To make the education truly effective, it should be designed to meet the purpose of education, some of the students’ needs and interests, and the world's limited resources.
