收到McGill的Admission

今天才收到McGill教授给我发的邮件，刚刚被推荐到GPSO那儿，说是还要几个礼拜才能收到正式的通知。不知道签证来不来的及呢？还有就是问一下已经被正式录取的McGill的XDJM，我的Program写的是Master/Doct1，什么意思啊？我记得我申请的时候是Master Non thesis阿。有人给我解释一下吗？

Course Option一样会有教授带的，因为毕业前要做PROJECT，同样需要ADVISOR.

我也不明白。但是McGill网站上是写的：如果Non-thesis就是要读博士了，可以在McGill或其他学校读；Thesis那种是不打算读博士的，写完thesis就可以毕业了。其实，我还是不是很懂。我申请的时候是看见他说大多数人都申请Non-thesis，所以就随便写了一个，根本不知道是什么意思。对了，我是Economics.

McGill的网站上是这么写的：
M.A. Non-Thesis (Research Paper)

Most M.A. students should take the non-thesis option. To work as a professional economist, or to enter a Ph.D. program in Economics, it is essential to understand a range of quite technical material. Completing 8 courses at the M.A. level also permits students to explore several different areas of the discipline. The research paper, as well as essays and projects carried out to complete course requirements, give students the opportunity to develop research skills.

M.A. (Thesis)

This option is designed for students who have a particular interest in one area, and who are not planning to enter a Ph.D. in Economics. Students who are interested in this option should consult both the M.A. advisor and a potential thesis advisor before selecting this option.

non thiesis 就是针对想读/ 准备读phd的学生的。 不会强迫你读phd的。。。不用担心。
