Generally speaking, people have two main inclinations to make decision. Some of them may turn to others for decision making, some may prefer to decide by themselves. When asked which outweighs the other, people are always hesitating, as the two are both significant means to make decision. People support to ask others for help as they can present a decision not only objective but also more professional. People choose to make decision by themselves state that the decision would be more independent and personalized. As far as I am concerned, the tendency on the two methods depends on what kind of decision a person should make.

To begin with, asking others to make decision is better for certain circumstances and certain people. For example, if we want to invest the stock, as we may not have the knowledge about investment, it is hard for us to decide which stock we should buy. At this time, we need an investor for assistance. Also, we all have the experience that when you get into trouble and feel lost, you always turn to your parents or other adults for help because you know they experienced more than you and they would have a solution to solve your trouble. So when we are going to make decision on the field we are not familiar with, turning to people who are more professional is necessary. On the other hand, when we are going to make decision which is out of your experience, you’d better turn to the elders for help.

On the contrary, some people should make decision themselves more then ask others to do it. For instance, when we are deciding which major to study, the first factor we should concern is our own inclinations. We certainly can consult to some one who is professional, but as it is so essential to our own life, no one has the right to replace us to make the decision. In many circumstances we see a team leader discussing with his or her followers, but the final decision is not made by the whole group, it actually should depends on the leader. So it’s obvious that sometimes it is someone’s responsibility to make decision for himself or herself. To a normal person, s/he should be responsible for his/her own life; to a leader, s/he should be responsible for all the staffs in the team. In that case, making decision on one’s own is preferable.

To sum up, as I have mentioned above, the kind of the decision is what we should take into concern when we choose the appropriate method.
