ISSUE153 - "Students should bring a certain skepticism to whatever they study. They should question what they are taught instead of accepting it passively."

How to study is a question we were, are and will be exploring. It is an issue we would like to discuss because it helps us humans to develop our civilization. According to the speaker's assertion, skepticism plays a great role in our study which I couldn't agree more with. That's an important way to push our society forward. However, if we bring the skepticism to all that we study, it is an overstatement in some way.
Admittedly, skepticism is necessary in our study. Under the limit of the level of technology, we always cannot figure something out very clearly and some phenomenon cannot be explained in scientific way. So people would explain them in their own way of thinking. Some of them will be proved right, but others are needed to be proved wrong. If no skepticism exists, nothing will be proved wrong and people would just accept it passively. Our society would stop his pace to develop. Thanks to skepticism, many outstanding discover are bought about in this way. Skepticism let us finally understand we are not in the center of cosmos; Skepticism make us know the earth we live in is round; Skepticism bring us the knowledge that speed can be higher that the speed of light. We require it to give us power to have our study make sense which is really hoped by the humans.
Although we need skepticism to make study more meaningful, putting doubt on whatever we study is sometimes a waste, especially for students. Our students are taught in the class to know more skill and knowledge most of which are totally right and some of which are axioms. Even students should cast some doubt on what they learn which certainly makes the learning more effective and impressive，but bringing skepticism to all that they study including those axioms is meaningless to them not to mention they will never figure that out. Axioms are the knowledge we need to accept without a second thought. If we keep doubt on that, nothing would get but acceptance finally. Unreasonable doubt sometimes could even bring about chaos and in some way it is a waste of our time and energy if we use some money and time just to prove it wrong for the skepticism. Skepticism exists only when some basic knowledge exists.
In our study, what is necessary of the study is the appropriate skepticism to what we study. Beyond some basic knowledge, we can have our own way of thinking on some of issues. That make us discover new things in our own way to prove something right or wrong which is the source of the power of development.
To sum up, in study, skepticism is important. We should bring it to study in a proper area. But over skepticism is not the way to make our world better but a waste of our resources. Finally, I agree with some of ideas inside this claim. Nevertheless some of ideas in the claim should be denied.

个人觉得第二点关于公式的质疑有点牵强附会，而且我觉得对公式的质疑是最重要的，建议作者修改一下例子，比如说老师教学生“white”这个单词，但是学生却质疑为什么不是“whiet”，就是所谓的无聊的、没有任何意义的质疑。对理科公式的质疑还是很重要的。（仅代表个人看法）
