In this argument, the author claims that the company should increase the stock of office supply, as a result, the office supply department will make a big benefit. To bolster this assertion, the author cites a survey to prove that people will buy more office supplies since there is a work-at-home trend. Nevertheless, after a further consideration in details, I find this argument logically unconvincing in three critical respects.

First of all, the author cites a survey conduced by the business manager, which indicates that over 70% people reflects that they are asked to more work at home. From my perspective, we have to ask how the survey is conducted, if respondents are representative and forthright enough to provide us believable and autistics answers, and is the sample broad enough to cover the whole situation? However, the author fails to provide useful information. Perhaps because this survey is conducted by a manager, people would exaggerate and complain how much work they have to do in front of a manager. Unless the author excludes this possibility, this argument is ill-founded.

In a addition, even if people do have more work to do at home, the author fails to provide any information available to justify any causal relationship between more work at home and the increased sell on the office supply. In older to prove that the former is contributable to the latter, the author must exclude other possibilities. Perhaps most people use their computer to work, which means they draw a picture, make a statistic analysis, or write an article through the computer. In that case, people would not prefer to pursue some office supplies. Or perhaps, the majority of people just take the office supply from their office to home, and when they go to work the next day, they just take it back. Without ruling out those explanations, the argument is questioned again.

Last but not the least, the nature of business is so complex that the author is too hasty to draw the conclusion that office supply department will become the most profitable part. When it comes to the issue of profit, we must also take many other factors into consideration, such us the selling market, the production cost, the transportation cost, and the balance between diamond and supply.
Even if the sell of the office supply is increased, there is no guarantee that it is the most profitable component.

To sum up, the conclusion lacks credibility because the evidence cited in the argument dose not lends powerful support to what the author mentions. To strengthen the argument, the author should provide more detailed information about how the survey is conducted, and other factors may effect the office supply’s sell.
