2.4 Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Technology makes people’s lives simpler in turn to make people’s lives more complicated.

When faced with the roaring development of technology, people hold distinct attitudes towards it. Some argue that our life is made much more complicated than it used to be, while some others appreciate the convenience brought by the technology which facilitates us with simpler life. And for my part, I seemingly belong to the latter group. I hold this point of view for the following reasons.

Firstly technology provides us broader source of information and people can get what they want to know much easier than ever before. In this society greatly valuing information, whether people or organizations can achieve success largely depends on the immediacy and credibility of the information they gain. And technologies of computer and internet provide people huge amount of useful information. By just turning the computer on and getting access to the internet, various information can be within your sight right away.

Secondly technology provides us more advanced equipment in the industrial production and gets people out of tiring and laborious physical work. For example, the invention of robots accelerates the mass production and simple operation of the machine makes high productivity no longer stressful for large number of workers. What's more, robots can execute dangerous task instead of humanbeings and make dealing with tough mission much simpler. For example, human controlled robot can fulfill the mission of cleaning the outside facets of the skyscraper.

Last but not least technology provides us plenty of tools and methods of communication and make the communication in our life easier. Like mentioned above, various softwares on computer such as msn and oicq help us chat with friends wherever and whenever we want; and with the fast development of mobile phone, simpler communication is just the problem of pressing the knobs on the panel.

To sum up, given the much convenience brought by technology to our life, I would definitely agree with the opinion that technology make people's lives much more simpler in turn to make people's lives more complicated.
