I agree with the speaker that it requires real effort and courage to make things as simple as possible. As the world around us is a complex one, In order to make it easily accepted by us, we have to make great effort. Furthermore, the society we are living in is also full of conflict, in order for us to live peacefully, we have to make things simple, and this requires courage.

In the course of rendering the world readily understood, science emerges. The development of science, in a sense, is a process of simplifying both the theories and equations. This is brutally true if we look back upon the development of science. Newton, the founder of the classic physics, described his theory only utilizing three laws, which is regarded as a generalization of the complex macro world; Maxwell, the forerunner of the electromagnetism, formulated his theory through four equations. The four simple equations completely describe the interaction between electronics and magnetism and therefore make wireless communication possible. Based on Einstein's equation mass-energy law, the nuclear energy is derived. However, behind these simple equations and theories is the great effort made by these great scientists. It is through their hard work that these theories come into being and finally change the world.

When science is applied to practical account, engineering emerges .this is more and more manifest. Probably we still remember the first computer ENIAC, produced in 1946, took too much room and required many people to manipulate it. However, nowadays we can operate personal computer freely and easily; so is the same with mobile phone. It is really hard to imagine that the mobile phone we are using today originate from a big brick-like stuff. Behind the process of simplifying are the great efforts of thousands and millions of engineers. From the first transistor to the first integrated circuit, from the first RAM to the windows operation system, no one can deny this is an exhausting process and needs great effort.

As far as the social activity is concerned, I would draw my conclusion by reviewing the economic crisis during the 1920s.In this man-made disaster, some countries seek the way out by invading the neighboring countries, such as Japan, Germany and Italy, which made things bigger and more complex. To the contrary, great American president Roosevelt ,with great courage ,began New Deal, and helped the U.S live through the Great Depression peacefully, which made things simple.

In sum, from what we have discussed above, we draw the conclusion that effort and courage are required in order to make things simple both in scientific endeavors and in social areas.

这段咱们两个例子好像呀~~会不会雷同呢?~~

罗斯福的例子不是很贴呀,结果simple有点含糊?

这次写的也很好,进步明显呀~~我的私下向你讨教讨教~~
