When I traveled in Bangkok, Thailand, one thing impressed me a lot, a free bus from The Palace to the Siam Paragon. Because I paid for the tickets in my country all the time that I was really excited when I was known to take the bus free. However, I still stand at the side that we need to pay for the public transportation.


Free public transportation service may be one of the benefits to the people who have a few incomes. But they will never think free public transportation system may cause the rise of the Tax. A Government needs money to operate the public transportation, as for examples, the infrastructure to the system of managing public transportation lines, labors payments, gasoline fees and etc. All of the above needs big costs to operate. With the pressure budget to the government, a new tax policy maybe announced to the public. That explains, people need to pay more tax than ever for the public transportation, and free service of public transportation may not benefit to the people anymore.

Actually, the free bus in Bangkok was crowed with many passengers. Many local residents were preferred to take the free bus than other vehicles. As most people like to travel, I cannot imagine that during the public holidays, a large number of people go to travel. Although the public transportation may not get exploded by those travelers, but that may cause another problems. There might be busy lines and non-busy lines. For Instance,
a family with kids may go to a children's land, however, the family found it was difficult to even get on the bus because the bus to the children’s land always full of passengers from the previous stop. It clearly shows that a free pubic transportation tool, especially to the line to famous place, not bring benefits all the time.


In addition, when we pay for the public transportation, the charge of the operation, have enough budgets to upgrade the equipments or the environment. For instance, they can not only install cameras in each corner in case of terrorist’s attack, but also install an escalator to provide convenience to the people who are not able to walk.

All in all, I think it is reasonable to pay for the public transportation with reasonable price.
