TOPIC: ARGUMENT145 - A new study collected data that shows that people who snore are more likely to gain weight than are people who do not snore. It is well known that many people who snore also stop breathing frequently during the night for a few seconds, a condition called sleep apnea. The interruption of breathing wakes the person-often so briefly that the waking goes unnoticed-and can leave the person too tired during the day to exercise. Anyone who snores, therefore, should try to eat less than the average person and to exercise more.

The author suggests any one who snores try to eat less and exercise more to eschew over weight. To support his conclusion, the author cites the apnea in the process of the snore may make people feel tired in the day time and consequently do not want to exercise. As a result people who snore are more likely to gain weight than people without this habit. Seemingly reasonable as the argument is, there are still some aspects require further consideration.
To begin with, we are not informed the percentage of people who snore may suffer the apnea. Therefore the conclusion of this phenomenon can not be extruding to a large spectrum let along to all people. Further more without consider the extent of the apnea of the people who snore, we can not know weather all or most people who suffer apnea will get tired in their daytime. In a word without a perfect survey to illustrate the percentage of the people suffer apnea among the snore people as well as the common extent of the apnea, I can not be convinced that the people have the habit of snoring suffer tired during daytime.
In another term, the author unfairly assumes that the want of exercise is the reason for over weight. Based on this ungrounded assumption the author point out it is the lack of exercise which contributed to the over weight possibility of the people with the habit of snoring, and go further to assert people who snore should exercise more than the average people to keep their weight. The common sense told us the over weight is caused by numerous factors. Lacking exercise is just one of them. Leaking exercise itself may not lead to overweight just like only exercise may not effective to reduce the weight.
Finally, the author point out eating less also contribute to keeping weight for the people who snore with out any grandness. As the science and the common sense illustrate us eating healthy food contributes to the body instruction and keeps a perfect pattern.
As discussed above, the author fails to support his or her conclusion with the mere evidence presented in this argument. To make better assess to this argument the author should provide more detailed information about the state of people who snore; the percentage of people who suffer apnea among them as well as the extent of the apnea. Further the author should consider other factors contributes to the over weight as well as the methods to cure it.
