No.27 No one can possibly achieve success in the world by comforming to conventional practices and conventional ways of thinking.

------------------------------

提纲:
1把传统的方式发展到精湛也可以成功。 古诗的韵律
2一味标新立异,并不会保证成功。
3创造力能够带来成功,但是基础是对传统的正确理解,而不是一味反对。

In the always-ongoing debate about the role of convention in modern society, the argument most often made on the liberal side. The rapid changes we are undergoing call for a thorough reform to reshape the way we behave, think and pursue success. So it is O.K. to assume that creativity plays a critical role in achieving success. But it is not O.K. to argue that one is destined to lose if he conforms to tradition.

To begin with, as the vital basis for nearly all forms of human activities, tradition, for those who adhere to it, serves to be a most important mentor in their path to success. Over time, tradition remains the same but the difference lies in how men bring it into play and that is where a genius distinguishes himself from a less talented. In Chinese ancient poetry, the rules of rhythm stays unchanged over thousands of years. Yet legions of brilliant poets appeared during the long time span. How did they stand out? Not by breaking the conventional practices, which is rule for poem composing concerning rhythm and rhyme.

Instead, they became prominent for their perseverence in furthering studies of these conventions and displaying it in their unique way. Actually that conventional practices become out of date is not due to convention itself no longer applicable, but rather men's shallow knowledge and misinterpretation of it. To be exact, convention was, and still is worthy of being conformed to.

Furthermore, without tradition, people, throwing all their might for novelty, can not be warranted for success. Sometimes, their inspiration even dry up quickly after they abandon tradition as a whole. Thanks to his stubborn refusal to accept any conventional thinking,  one has to start from scratch every cause he wants to devote himself in, which distracts his efforts greatly. He might get stuck by a basic problem, although solved long before, simply because the solution labels as "conventional". As a consequence, he would probably use up all his time and money and even passion handling trivial but primary problems before he actually gets down to what he wants to do at the very beginning. If so, how can he expect to reach the peak of human civilization with or without his creativity?

Admittedly, numerous elites owe their accomplishments to creativity, in other words, a flee from conventional way of thinking. After all, the development of human history witnesses brilliant men from Corpnicus to Columbus, with all their courage to challenge authorities and traditions, make significant contribution to human civilization. However, their success can never be earned if they don't perceive tradition at all. In fact, it is because they understood convention deeply and profoundly that they discovered the flaws in it, thus striving for answers and remedy for these problems. And often in this process were they dedicated to the progressive stride of the fields they studies. No denying that convention has its position in their glory.

To sum up, albeit conventional patterns for acting and thinking blocks from time to time the eminent to perform their talents, it does not necessarily mean that sticking to it inevitably leads to failure. While it would certainly help if those who command distinctive talents voice their critics against the problems woven in convention, I am under no illusion that this alone would not solve all the problems and convention deserves still our attention.
